Variety says 20th Century Fox has acquired feature rights to the life simulation computer game "The Sims" from Electronic Arts, and has set project up with Fox-based John Davis. The movie will be live-action.
Steve Asbell is over-seeing the project for Fox with "Sims" Studio Head Rod Humble managing the creative property for Electronic Arts. Brian Lynch will write the script; the story is under wraps with talent yet to be named.

That is really interesting lol. I wonder if the movie will turn out boring? I mean, what would the actors do all throughout the movie? Maybe they'll put in graphics from the games during certain parts of the movie lol.

lol, I could just see it now. The cameras following each family member and they have a blue circle underneath them like on the game. Even when they take a shower or use the toilet, the middle of their bodies pixilize. I agree with the plot maybe have something to do with the abduction of Bella Goth by aliens. That would be an obvious thing for the script writers to do.

I am a big fan of the sims 2 PC game. This is the first I heard of a movie. I might go see it whenever it comes out but that will probably be awhile.

This is the first I heard about this. It sounds very interesting project for fox to create this kind of movie. I wounder how they will make it as interesting as the game. I hope they do make a sims3, I would love to see updated changes and better scenes to the game.

I wonder if the actors will have the censor blur when they take showers? LOL!!!
I can't imagine having enough "stuff" happen in the movie. I wonder how this would really work, to get a movie made about the Sims. Hmmm.... Interesting concept, though, I suppose. :)
