there aren't any fats in sushi but there is a high amount of glucouse in rice. This starch is converted in you body into fat to be used later, so it will cause you to gain weight, but not as much as mcdonalds of kfc

Sushi is a healthy food. And I don't think you will get fat to eat it. Don't worry.

Like anything, if you over eat, you will gain weight. But sushi is definitely a healthier alternative to many other foods out there. Regular exercise and all foods in moderation is a good way to maintain weight. Increase the amount of exercise you do and control your calorie intake to lose weight. But I think as a rule sushi is pretty safe and healthy to eat.

Generally, sushi is lower in fat than other types of food. The fat content will vary depending on the type of sushi that you enjoy eating. If you usually eat those raw seafood types, I think that shouldn't be fattening. However, you might want to cut down on the non traditional variety of sushi because sometimes, they use mayo or salad cream and that can be fattening. Also you might to avoid those with deep fried items.

Eating most sushi will not make you fat. It's considered a very healthy food because it is high in protein but low in fat, and you can also get an assortment of foodgroups from eating makizushi: meat, grain, vegetable and sometimes fruit. Eating sushi with tempura or the weird American varieties with cooked fish, cream cheese and mayo will probably be more fattening than other kinds. I think having it for lunch ever day will be good for you because it is light and a pure food without many added ingredients.

I don't think so. For many people in easten countries, rice is their main food. Contrary to the people from western countried, they're slimer especially after midlife. Of course, you have to control your appetite. If you're full, don't eat more, no matter how tasty sushi is.

I think you not would earn weight eating fish but I think it depends if you put some thing on the fish so I would get a lot of calories.

It depends on your tolerance for starchy foods. White rice has a high glycemic index and causes weight gain in many people. Also, sugar is used liberally to help the rice stick together. Eating sashimi by itself should not be as much of an issue, however. The fat in fish is good fat, used to make hormones and build nerve tissue. (Contrary to popular belief, your brain never stops making new nerve cells, so the better you take care of yourself nutritionally, the better.)

As long as you don't over eat it you shouldn't gain weight. Not eating the rolls with all the sauces and deep friend stuff should be good too. Your body really does need carbohydrates for energy so even eating the rice is good for you in moderation. I get fuller faster eating sushi then other types of food too.

Japanese have a problem because there food is high in salt intake..so easy on the soy sauce..check the sodium intake as salt causes water retention and is not good for hypertension..

It depends on the amount. Here is an overview over calories in some of the typical sushi you will eat. http://www.sushiordeath.com/raw/calories-in-sushi/2007/

i started replacing sushi for more fast foods when i go to lunch and i haven't noticed too much of a difference as far as losing any weight. i mostly eat it because it's tasty and sometimes my stomach needs something kinda light not greasy. plus if you find a good place, you can get about 12 or more pieces of sushi, miso soup and salad with ginger dressing for around $8-$10. a little more than fast food, but, still around the same price if you go to, say, a sandwich shop or mexican restaurant for lunch.

I like sushi also, and I bought the material to make sushi myself. It's entertaining to roll the rice. But I think rice and some starch thing is not good for losing weight. If you wanna lose weight, don't eat starch thing.Or eat as less as you can.

Yha i think Yes though its depend to you too ... As what of my experienced I really gain much of weight. I love sushi very much I used to eat sushi almost everyday - almost... but I guess sashimi is much better for you to take if you dont want to get fat since its only fish meat not just like sushi it has cold rice topped by raw fish... Cold rice make you gain more!!!
