I can't find the news story for this but had to share it here with you all. Here in St Cloud Minnesota awhile back a man ran his car into a utility pole then a few minutes later he had hit an occupied car. Once the police arrived they did a breathalyzer and arrested him for DWI. Now a few hours later his wife came to post his bail. Well in Minnesota before they will rleasea a drunk the person picking them up is checked out for a valid DL etc. Guess what? Yes his wife was also arrested for DWI. Now this is nuts. Along the same line of DWI I had a friend in treatment when I sobered up. He had gotten DWI's in one night. This was back in 1991. 3 DWIs in 3 different cities. This was due to the fact the police allowed him to walk home as he was just a couple miles away. As soon as the cops drove away he got back in. The next city also allowed him to walk away. The last DWI he recieved was right in his driveway as the cops were waiting for him. The problem back then was technology wasn't around that shared arresting info from city to city that quickly. Well let me say he paid dearly for those 3 DWI's. Any stories of your own or friends DWI's are appreciated. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

a friend of mine did something kind of similar when we were growing up. he borrowed his father's car,and totaled it..then went home, borrowed the mother's,yup, did the same thing. somehow or another he survived both crashes, and hurt nobody but himself.he showed up at my house and wanted me to hide him.i was like,no dude.you wrecked both their cars, you have to fess up. i don't think they charged him but he ended up in detox and had his licence yanked.i'm not sure he has it still now,and that was over 10 years ago.

Im glad he had to pay dearly. I cant believe the cops let him walk away like that. Now the laws are much tougher as they should be. Too many people just dont take driving and drinking seriously. And they should.

yeah 16 years ago things were pretty lax as far as DWI. The technology was low keyed as well. That's why he was allowed to "walk" away. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

A guy I used to work with about 10 yrs. ago got his license pulled permanently for numerous DUIs. He has been riding his bike to work and everywhere else since. Yes, he still drinks as well. I'm waiting for the cops to pull him over for riding his bike while under the influence.

We've had a man on a horse issued a DWI and many men on riding lawnmowers from bars also issuede DWI's. Too funny. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I think that is a good idea...checking out the driver who picks someone up from jail....I have never heard of that before.... Your friend's seemingly good luck certainly backfired...it seems to me that he would have been better off getting arrested the first time...LOL The strongest thing I drink is Pepsi...never received a DWI from that one...I usually get stuck being the designated driver....on the rare occasion that we go out...LMAO

That's the standard procedure when one bails out another person. They check their ID then if they can smell or sense they are under any type of influence oh ohhh! LOL. I am always the designated driver as I'm sober for over 16 years. I don't go to bars a lot but when my niece comes into town she always likes going to see a live band and I'll drive as she buys my coffee or pops etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

DWI is really a serious matter. a lot of people have been killed or maimed due to drivers who were too irresponsible to stay away from driving when they're intoxicated. i'm just glad that now we have the technology to spot those who are DWI and police are more vigilant. people should be kept safe. what's the use of being a careful driver when the other driver is swerving wildly in front of you because he's drunk?

Wow! To quote my husband "Drunk equals stupid for many people." 3 DWIs in one night....I think the third DWI in a lifetime is a felony. So I wonder if there is some kind of world record for the most arrests in a 24 hour period?
