What discussions have you posted that get the most responses?

I was looking at the most popular discussions of the day, and a thought came to me. Is there a common thread among these? If there is, I can't see it. I also saw a discussion about whether or not people get disappointed when no one responds to them. I imagine that most people do. If someone didn't care about the responses, there are avenues that one can take to publish the work for people to read but not interact, but myLot is all about the interaction. So, what topics have you posted a discussion on that have brought the most responses? Have they been the discussion topics you expected to bring the most responses at myLot, or has it been a surprise?

Hello brian_s! I have many discussions who were one of the top discussions. Usually, I think of the discussion which I know is easy to understand, very simple and everybody could relate to. I remember the first post I had is about the long distance relationship. I am so amaze because the responses came every minute. When I receive the mylot digest LDR is one of them. But actually, I only have 25 responses in that discussion. The topic that I started who got many number of responses is "How do you feel when you are compared to someone else?" I got 83 responses with it. You know, the idea that comparison is unavoidable because it really exists.

83 responses is quite a lot! But I can see why a lot of people would have some good personal experiences to share in regard to that topic.

Well since I like interaction, most if not all of my discussion topics are questions, like this one! Since people only get points for quality and lengthy posts, I ask questions abut other peoples experiences and such like where if your favorite place to...?? do you always leave a tip when you....?? Have you ever....?? It gets people to remember things, and tell stories. It seems to be working for me, that's probably why I have at least one comment on each discussion I start. I also comment most of my friends topics too, and Im hoping that they will do the same for me if my questions are interesting enough. Good luck hun =] ♥Mimii

Thanks. Yeah, I have noticed that people do tend to write more when it is about a personal story, or an opinion that they value. Those are usually enjoyable to read as well.

i have noticed that when mylotters do post under controversial topics like religion or politics, they get maximum number of responses. i steer clear of such posts and the responses i have got maximum maybe upto 50+. merry ghristmsas and a happy new year.

Controversies certainly create some interesting discussions. But whether they are fun or not depends on quite a few things.
