How long does it take for your blood pressure to return to normal?

I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia in my last pregnancy. I was induced at 37.5 weeks and delivered a healthy baby in early December 2006. They started me on blood pressure medication (Labetalol) in January and slowly weaned me off of it. I am still getting higher than normal readings, but not nearly as high as when I was pregnant and first delivered. How long does it take before my blood presure will return to normal?

I think each woman is different, but my pressure was back to normal by my six week checkup. But I have heard of other women who are back to normal within hours of delivery, so I think it really depends.

I have heard that and that I may just have high blood pressure from now on. I am just hoping someone will tell me that they had high readings for a while afterwards;0)
