Is human blood really blue and only turns red when it is exposed to air?

I just got told that blood is only red when it is outside of the body and it is blue when it is inside can this be true i'm baffled can anyone enlighten me? thank you

Yes it is true.I can tell when I look at my wrist, I can see my veins are blue.I was taught that it was oxygen in the air that makes it turn red.

No, human blood is red. When I give blood at the blood center the blood still comes out red, even though it is not exposed to air.

when you gave blood the reason it turned red was because their was air in the tubes ect. maybe

that just doesn't make sense, that's like asking if when a tree falls in the forest, can you hear it land or something. why do you think humans have a slight pink tone to their skin? or why your face gets red when your blood pressure goes up? that's silliness! lol

I think that's nonsense. Blood is never blue.
