Ever used your store's return policy? Was it a hassle?

Last week, I bought a blouse at a local department store, and when I went to carry it back, the store literally put me through the ringer when I asked for my money back. There was so much paperwork and questions, I almost gave up, and left both the blouse and money at the store. Have you had a similar experience with stores in your area? Have you ever tried to take a store up on its store return policy and then gotten mistreated?

Too bad that we don't have any return policy in Hong Kong. After you bought the item and that's it. You can't just go into the store again getting refund or changing it to other items because you realize you don't really like it (if there is some problem with the product, you can go in and change to another one). So I don't have experience in returning anything here. But when I went to the states, I was really amazed to see that people can return stuff because they don't like it. I remember seeing a queue in wal-mart and all those people are returning things! I guess I am more used to "think thoroughly before buying" but I would be happy if we have the choice to return things!
