This has been going on alot in our community lately and it is driving me just nuts. Taking dear little kittens and dumping them out on the side of the road. My parent adopted three that were throw out of a car they are just darling dont know how people can be that cruel. What do you think of this and what do you think should be done to people who do this heartless thing?

It really makes me sick that anyone could do that to a harmless animal. Even kittens can look cute. I would think that people who behave like that should be locked up.
If someone doesn't want their cat to have kittens then they should get the cat neutered it doesn't cost all that much.
Our local cat & dog home neuters all strays before trying to find good homes for them, this helps to keep stray animals from being born.

I dont have any pet, but i dont wish those animals to be treated that way .. they ahve also some rights and must be respected, however in our country it was not truly been followed...I think those people should be fined or be reprimanded by the authorities concerned..

Unfortunatly this happens all around me too- It drives me crazy- We have adopted cats throughout the last couple of years- My family does the same- I think the dropping off is actually slowing down- You know what would stop it-?? When you get an animal- take the responsibility and get them fixed- it is our responsibility as pet owners!

I agree it is a completely horrible thing to do and it is not just to young kittens either.
The people who do this are irresponsible on 2 levels, if they have a female cat and don't want kittens then it is an easy matter and not too expensive to have her spayed. Both of our male cats have had the similar operation.
Secondly if the cat does have kittens how difficult is it to take them either to animal welfare or even a pet shop? My sister took in a stray that subsequently had kittens, gorgeous fluffy little things and she took them to the local pet shop who asked her to pay $5 for their food and they would do their best to sell them, it only tok them 2 days to sell the 4 kittens.
I grew up on a farm halfway between 2 towns and we were forever finding dumped cats. Often the cats were about 6 to 8 months old and if you guessed they were presents from the previous christmas you would not be wrong. Kids pester their parents for these pets and then they grow up a bit and the kids don't want them any more so the parents dump them. I think this is just as bad as dumping the baby kittens.
Mistreatment of any kind of animal is very high on my list of actions I totally despise and I wish that the people who do these things to the poor animals would have to go through similar experiences to see how they like it.

My ex at one time worked at a private lake community and he found a bag of kittens that someone had thrown in the lake, only one was alive, and he brought her home. She was the sweetest kitten, but she couldn't meow, it would come out like a whisper, and I often thought she damaged her vocal chords screaming in that bag.
I absolutely don't agree with dumping kittens or worse things. If someone doesn't want their cat to get pregnant, they should have it spayed. If they can't afford it, there are many programs now that help with the cost.

I agree that this is a very heartless thing to do and believe that anyone caught doing such a thing should have to pay a fine as this is mistreatment of animals . If one doesn't want the responsiblities of kittens then they need to have their pet spaded or keep their pet indoors where they won't have to worry about this problem . There are always other options , they could have dropped them off at an S.P.C.A or some place that takes in kittens or they could have put up a sign to see if anyone wanted kittens . By dumping them it means that they didn't even bother trying and this is wrong to feel that you can just get rid of a problem by dumping it the same as the garbage . Kittens are living breating animals and anyone who would have the heart to do this should be fined and should never be allowed to own a pet again because if you can do this to an animal what would you do to the pet you are keeping and what kind of person would have the heart to do this . I would worry about what kind of person this was to treat life like this .

I would say that we should dump them on a road far away from anywhere or anything but that is still too nice.
If caught, they should have to pay a hefty fine and do maybe 500 hours community service at an SPCA or something. People who do that are cruel and abusive. ALso, they should never be allowed to have pets again.

For crulty to animals people should be made to work in a dog or cat kennel for a year or more to see what happens to these animals. They should be made to clean up after all the animals and feed and take care of them. That is what they are trying to avoid when they through pets away.
I feel our jails are to full now so lets come up with some other form of punishment.
I also believe anyone owning a pet should be made to have the pet spayed or neutered. I have always believed in it. If a person is not a breeder or does not show the dog/cat then they need to take precautions so we do not have any unwated pets.
