Do your kids embarrass you?

Have your kids ever misbehaved in public so much, that you wished you could turn your back and temporarily disown them? Are they constantly knocking over displays in stores? How do you deal with those situations? Put on a brave face, or run from the store in shame?

Hi there, there was one time where my son back chatted me, because he couldnt get his way. I simply ignore him and went off and did my own thing, later on that day, he realised what de'd done and came around and apologised to me, thats as embarrassing as its got...

There has been times where they have screamed and cried over something. As long as they aren't in pain, I ignore it. If people want to stare at a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum, that's fine. That's what toddlers do.

My eldest once at about age 3 pulled some extreme behavior in a resterant. He managed to get up a long table (cafeteria style place) and run down it while I was setting our tray down. He kicked an elderly woman's plate into her lap and then stepped on a fork & sent it shooting across the room. The fork part was an accident, but an accident that happened because of him running down the table. I was mortified. Thankfully I was eating with a friend I very much admired/respected who was a parent of slightly older child. I don't remember exactly what she said, but basically it was along the lines of "welcome to being a parent". She also helped to get him back under control, and re-directed him with some toy she had in her bag. Had I been by alone with my son, I would have left immediately.

yes, sometimes my little boy did. I can't control myself. But my husband will take care of him. He will just give him a toy and that's it. He'll shut his mouth.
