With Constant Content, you have to write an article and decide how much money you would like to receive for it. You put it on their site, and people have the opportunity to buy your article. That is the only way that you make money with Constant Content.
I don't really like writing for Constant Content because there is always a chance that you will do a lot of work for an article that never gets bought. They do have people looking for specific articles on specific topics, but even with those, there is a possibility that your article won't be selected.
I know that some people have done well there, but I haven't really had any articles that I would prefer to try to sell there. Most of my articles go to Associated Content first, and then usually Helium, if they get rejected at AC and fit a topic on Helium.

Wow, scarywhitegirl, thanks for telling us about how Constant Content works. I had no idea that you selected the price for Constant Content. I've never gone on that site, but am familiar with Associated Content. What's the price range for Constant Content? $20? $40? Or cheaper amounts? I've heard that you write for pennies over at Helium, so I never considered joining the site. What kind of topics do you write when you are over at Associated Content?

From what I've seen, the price range on Constant Content is all over the place. Some people sell their articles for pretty cheap, but the average is probably in the $20-40 range that you mentioned.
As for AC, I just write about whatever I think of at the time. :) It's all over the place, but if you want to read some of my articles: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/19234/dawn_a_vogel.html

So glad you did your research first. lol
I have heard that you can write and get decent money for the things you write. I have not gone there. I know Associated Content pays although they can be sticky about their rules. hmmmm kind of like here...
If you find out the what is up with them. Please PM me and let me know too if you will. Would appreciate the information first hand.

This is my personal experience regarding the two (CC and AC)
AC rejects your work much less often and is open to a wider range of topics. Overall the pay is less, but you know right away if you will be getting paid and they generally pay quickly. If you are a fast writer and can submit a lot of articles to AC, you could make at least as much money there.
CC has higher standards (which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your writing ability) - but there is no guarantee that your work will ever be purchased by anyone. Because you can set your prices, and because they sell your work to third parties, you can make much more per article. IF it sells.
I have pretty much stopped writing for CC because I found the higher amounts my articles received was not worth the longer time it took to write them (and the added headaches of seeing some of them sit on the site for eons without selling)
You can always submit your articles to both sites as non-exclusive, and then possibly make money off of them from both AC and CC (although CC strongly prefers you do not do that, IME)
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Constant Content is an excellent writer site. It is the one site that refuses poorly written articles ensuring that content lives up to professional standards, unlike a site like Helium.
Editors at Constant will easily reject any article that has grammatical issues, or has improper capitalization in the title.
But Constant Content will pay all writers, from anywhere in the world, unlike Associated Content, which will only pay Americans.
When submitting an article to Constant, you will be lead through a process that includes setting a price for your article, and indicating the rights you are selling. It is really a simple process and will only feel alien the first couple of times you use the system.
The site is very professional and your work can draw very good pay.
I have been very impressed with Constant Content so far.
