i am very much from the philippines, too. and i reside in davao city. politics has gone too bad since the marcos era. before him, the way it was going in our country was just fine. for those who were born a few years before the guy came into power, you had never seen the glory days of the philippines. it was such a beautiful country then. all of us are really proud of our being filipinos. now, there is not even a shadow of hope that those glory days will ever be back.
i am very much disillusioned at the way our politicians behave these days. i like to see the likes of mike defensor, raul gonzales, miriam santiago, joe de venecia and ermita around. they know how to be loyal and true to their leaders whom they support. ralph recto and migs zubiri have also earned my respect. i do not like those who say bad things about their leaders just because, they want to win in the elections. those people who have no distinct stand are never worth voting for.
i know that i cannot name all the politicians whom i consider worth respecting. nonetheless, there are those around who gets elected although it is very obvious that they have only been sensationalizing in order to earn popularity and make people vote for them. too bad, the poeple still has never learned their lessons in life.
