do i really have to learn how to use chopsticks???

my boyfriend really loves japanese foods.....and he really wants to eat in japanese restaurants with me!!! but, i keep on telling him that i hate japanese foods......the only reason is that i dont know how to use chopsticks....
do we really have to learn how to use that stick?? gosh...in my case i think i really have!!!

My boyfriend and i always visit Japanese restaurants here in Dublin. We were at one last night. I cannot for the life of me use chopsticks, so i just ask for a knife and fork. They have them there also as they do not expect every one to be able to use chopsticks. My boyfriends uses them but sometimes can find it hard to use depending on what food he is eating.
You should try them, if you cannot use them, just get a fork. The fodd does be gorgeous.

Ya, you can request fork from the restaurant. I am sure they sure have it. You can also use your hand if you wan. Sometime i do use hand to eat some food like sushi. But it will be better if you try to use chopstick to eat them. The taste will be different. :)
