it is really beneficial for us if we will be able to cultivate new found good friends everytime. the best friends whom we found last are the ones whom we will be hanging out with more of the time. these are the ones who are near and around us where we are currently settled. however, we will always the good ones whom we have had long ago. this is the feelings that compel to pay some friends a visit once in a while. although it requires some effort, time and money, it is really very rewarding to have some good times with them even if it will only be for once in a year.

I think the quality of friendship is not linked to the time i mean it might be that someone is your friend from last 10 years but he is not that kind of friend who cab be a best one and next day you meet a friend you is going to be your best friend in just a month so i think quality of friendship is not linked to the time frame of friendship.

most of us will value more the old ones more than the new ones that we are having. the old ones are tried and tested by time. some of us though do not have enough luck to have good friends to value since childhood. we will then meet the friends whom we will find to be our soulmates much later still in life. such has been true for me. the friends i value the most have come into my life during my high school days for the earliest. i have a few more whom i have just met when i was already way above my thirties. i envy those who have valuable frineds since their much younger days.

they could be both good and better if you can cite some similarities of your old friends and the new one. it really depends...

you shouldn't divide friends in new and old ones.. friends are either good, understanding.. or acquaintances..

I woudln't say that. Old friends start off new. You never know who you are going to meet, or when you will meet them. Friends come in many forms. I have some old friends, I have friends I've made since I arrived here in Arizona a month ago who will be friends forever. They are all wonderful.

for me, yes old friends are better than new ones. well you get to meet new people time and again, but the old ones still remain as so and as time goes by it becomes stronger. as for new ones, i don't close my door to them, and it's still a repeating process where you have to get to know the person first.
