I want to discuss on reservation for SC/ST/OBC in educational instituitions. Did you saw in News about the recent Gujjar vs Meena caste war in Rajasthan? Gujjar was demanding ST status for their community. Gujjar Community can get reservation easily if their status is changed from OBC to ST. Meena being the only ST community in Rajasthan didn't wanted to share their resercation. The Caste War Began, a few people died also. Delhi was bundh for a day. Both the communities protested violently. The main root of this fight is "Reservation". Everybody is fighting for or against reservation. Politicians are supporting reservation for their vote banks. This is just one sample of what will happen if you divide country on the basis of caste. If the country is divided further on basis of caste, there are more severe problems to come. India is the only country in the world which is fighting to remain backward as every community is trying to prove they are more backward. Please comment on this. For those who are supporting reservation, I want to ask a few questions:
Are all SC/ST/OBC economically and socially backward? (I know so many from SC/ST/OBC who are very forward and have enough money and intelligent too, they are making misuse of reservation)
Are all General Category students Forward? (There are so many among general category also who are backward and poor)
Don't you think that reservation is meant for backward people but is being used by the creamy layer from these community?
Are our politicians ready for a surgery by a surgeon who was selected for medical through reservation?
Why not 50% reservation in parliament?
The government promised to remove creamy layer from OBC reservation proposal after huge protests, but they didn't removed the creamy layer from reservation?
Isn't economy based reservation more effective than caste based reservation? (In this case all the poor people can get reservation irrespective of their caste)
Whatever be the basis of reservation, it should not exceed 25%, but here it has exceeded 50%, in Tamil Nadu, it is more than 60%, if this continues, general category will remain back and one day they have to give reservation to general category also.
