help from believers

My family and i have been going trough some tough financial problems since i decided to stay at home with them and i've asked almost 20 different churches for some financial help and have received the same reesponse. We can't help you because you don't belong to our church. I thought we were the Church(body of Christ if you were washed in the Blood of the Lamb)??? Apparently that is not the case. They said they would pray for me, yet they are continuing to ask people to support their ministry with monetary donations.In the book of Acts the churches from different cities took up donations for churches in other cities. Also in the 2Corinthians. James said not to tell a brother be warmed and filled and not give them the things that they needed to be warmed and filled. This does not cause me any doubt of my Lord Jesus but it does show me that christians are hearers of the Word only, not doers. The Bible says Doers of the Word will be Blessed. Can somebody help me with this?
