I would like to encourage moms out there to stay sexy and desirable even sfter giving birth. Be the same woman your husband saw the first time you met. Never let your being a mother an excuse for having an overweight body. It feels great to be fit and healthy mother. Stand up and be counted!

Fine. I'll go along with that. But by the same token, we should expect our men to keep fit as well. Women are held to such a double standard, it's not even funny. Pregnancy ravages the body, and even those who try to eat healthy and exercise during pregnancy are dismayed at their post-pregnancy bodies. Women are being mis-educated about proper eating during pregnancy and are led to believe they need to mass consume because they're eating for two, instead of just making sure that everything they eat is quality nutrition. And women are still put in the position of doing all of the caring and nursing for the baby, leaving little time for sleep, let alone exercise. Men need to step up and give the mother a hand so she can focus on getting her pre-pregnancy body back.

I know so many woman who literally eat twice as much when pregnant, because they "are eating for two", but the baby needs way less calories than an adult consumes. If a pregnant woman is eating heathly foods (actually even if she is eating unhealthy foods) she only needs 300 extra calories each day. I did that during my second pregnancy (300 extra calories) and gained only 1/2 pound the entire pregnancy, but delivered a healthy 10 lb 2 oz baby. I was overweight to begin with, so the minimum weight gain was ok and it really helped me to lose the weight afterwards.

Exactly. I was a bit overweight with my pregnancy too, but instead of eating whatever I felt like, I ate quality foods with optimum nutrition. I gained a total of 14 pounds and most of that was baby and placenta and fluids. My friend, on the other hand, sat around eating whole boxes of chocolates from Walgreens and totally fell into that whole "eating for two" nonsense. She gained over 60 lbs during that pregnancy. Women really need to be educated about what is healthy eating during pregnancy. It's not "stuff your face because you can." It's "make sure every thing you put in your mouth is beneficial to the baby" time.

I have to agree with mmiller26's first comment. Do you realize most fathers put on weight when they're expecting a child as well? Only there's not the same pressure for them to lose weight as there is for the mothers, who happen to be the ones primarily responsible for caring for the child and themselves after having been through what is usually the most traumatic experience of their lives, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I've got serious props for mommas everywhere for just making it! I know I was underweight when I got pregnant, and now I'm technically overweight. But I've never been stronger, felt better, been more confident, or looked this damn good! Being a mommy's a power trip and it shows, lol. Sexy is a vibe, not a look, though the look helps. One of the easiest ways to exercise after giving birth (only when you're really ready) is using your baby! As your child grows, so does your ability to lift more. My son and nephew are the best freeweights I've found yet, and it's the easiest way to keep them entertained. Flinging a child up and down, up and down, up and down is exhausting, but you'll have killer arms and abs for it. Same with running up and down the stairs after them all day. Plus, they sleep better, lol. And those huge balls they love so much? Perfect balance ball during naptime. I'll never be a two again, but I look damn good in my 8-10's. Blessed Be

I agree... i've been into dieting since i gave birth with my eldest and i just added taebo recently.Honestly, i never felt so much contented with my body.I do it not just for my husband but mostly for myself also.Since i gave birth to my eldest, everyone keeps saying i still look the same when i was single, others even commented that i look more sexy than my single friends, lol.Others even thought that my kids are more like my brothers than my children when they are with me...that gives my husband a real bad headache with no medicine to cure it.
