I have been out of work for months now. It does get boring, but it is really relaxing. I guess this is just preparing me by giving me a break before having a baby. Financially, if you don't need it go without it. This is a typical day for me now,to just stay home. I kind of wish I can work but in all honesty I do enjoy being home. I do plan on going back to work however next year. So this can be my little vacation. :/ Good Luck!

I am like you. I enjoy being at home and I don't financially need to work but I do miss it sometimes. I have 4 kids so everyone says that I have a job but being at work might be a break. I plan on going back to school in January when the baby won't need me at home as much. I wish that everyone had enough freedom to get to choose whether they wanted to work or not.

amen!!! i also wish we all had the freedom to choose whether or not to work!!! to be honest i probably wouldn't work, at least not for awhile. i commend you on your JOB of taking care of four children!!! i actually started a discussion just to show my respect to parents of more than one child ( http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/120865.aspx )...

if i could make what i make right now and only have to work about 15 or 20 hours a week that would be ideal!!!!! i would love to only have to work while my daughter is at school... that way i could drop her off and pick her up everyday, help with her homework, keep my house cleaner, cook for my husband... some people will probably think that sounds old fashioned but i would love to be able to take care of my family like that :-)

i don't know if i'd be begging to go back to work but i could see how it would get boring or even lonely sitting at home... especially if all of your friends still had to work, that would get old pretty quick :-)

I'm a SAHM and I never thought I would be in a million years. My daughter is about to turn 1 next month and when I got pregnant, we decided we'd do the daycare thing. That didn't work out so great for us. She was constantly in the doctors office, every other week or so --- always sick and I just couldn't take it anymore. My employers were starting to look down on me (jerks) and my daughter didn't seem to ever be well. So we made the decision that I would quit and stay at home with her. Now, my husband has a good job but we still find it hard to manage at times. It's hard to live on one income and have a kid!! But even though it's tough, it was the BEST decision we ever made. She hasn't been to the doctor in over 3 months which is pretty impressive if you know us. I wish there was something I could do at home but I'm so leary of the stuff on the net, it all seems to be a scam. For now though, being at home was a great decision and I actually LOVE it. I never thought I would -- but I do. It's much harder than my last job too! Haha:)

I have been in this situation before, about a year ago. I quit my job because my boyfriend and I had bought a home together and I was working a swing shift job 3 am to 11 am. My mom and I were living together at the time, so it worked out ok because she helped take my kids to school etc., but once my boyfriend and I bought a home, I couldn't leave the kids alone in the mornings, so I quit to look for another job. I was looking before I quit, but by the time we closed on the house and moved in, I didn't have anything yet. The first 2-3 weeks was nice but afterward I got real bored, gained weight, got real lazy around the house. I was working to find a job everyday, but after that I wasn't doing much with myself. I was in school at the same time I quit so I was still going to class, but at nights. I wish I could've just stayed home to finish school, but I couldn't afford to not work for years to finish school with no money. Needless to say I found work, dropped 30lbs. woo hoo, and I'm still trying to figure out how I can be at home, going to school while making money. I love MyLot, but you don't make very much money just chatting unfortunately......

If you aren't working in the public work environment you will usually settle into a daily routine at home. For example: Monday - laundry day, Tuesday - project day, Wednesday - laundry and ironing day, Thursday - grocery and other shopping day, Friday - clean the house from top to bottom day, Saturday - yard work or day trips, Sunday - church and sit around doing fun stuff.
Also, you will have more time for coffee with friends, chats on the phone, projects around the house you have been putting off for years, maybe more exercise to get yourself in the shape you've always wanted to be in.

I think it's best to work if you can. Whether it's working from home, going out to work or being a homemaker or stay at home mum. I think if you're just a housewife and have no kids or anything then it's just lazy to not work if you aren't planning on having kids.

If I had plenty of money I would not work at a job. But I would volunteer, I would garden, I would travel and I would paint and write. I could definitely stay busy all the time if I didn't have to work.

Hey all!!
well, with me is depends on the job.
Ihave had some jobs that you had to drag me away from
and then most of them I would rather be at home.
when my brother came to live with me after my daddy die.
I needed to fine something I could do at home. I did teleamarketing at the time and they had a home agent posision
so I worded form home for about 4 1/2 years and I really didn't like it; course they keept changing things that had alot to do with it
then I went to work for the state of florida and the frist job was as a cook working with boys who had been in abit of trouble.
I just loved that job!! but they closed the cam and I went to a different place. still with the state and I hated it. then they laid me off. and mow I'm on unemployment. the frist time I've ever been on it and I'm only losing 14.00 a pay check;
but as you said I got bored need to work but still with my brother had to be at home so.........
I've stated a network marketing busniess that I love I'm working and best part I'm at home!!!!
so I guess I would have to say WORK
Thanks for Listening
