Rags to Riches, who stumbled out of the starting gate, won the Belmont beating all the colts! It was a great race. The Belmont is actually a pretty long race for a horse race, so this is quite an achievement.

I was so pleased to read the article about Rags to Riches winning the Belmont! What a great day for the fillies of the world! LOL. Seriously though, it really is. And isn't her name just perfect for this situation and win?

Thanks! I was also thinking "you go girl!". You probably know that this is a hard race to win, especially for a filly, because of the length.

That was an awesome race!! My brother told me right before the race started that there was only one Filly in the race, and I said that's the horse that's going to win. My all male family had a good laugh, with one of my other brothers saying that a "female" could never keep up. Rags to Riches showed them...lol

I didn't know there was going to be a filly in the race until just before it started, also. I didn't know that any filly had won it before, even 102 years ago. She was also a lot smaller than the other horses, so I'd bet she was working her behind off.
