I know some of us here have resorted to those click e-mails to read schemes...I USED to do a lot of those but gave up, since I was swamped with e-mails so bowed out....the two I haven't yet are Hits r Pay and Deals 'n' Cash...but I'm seriously wondering about them..
Don't ask why but a little warning flag goes up about these two places....almost all those other places pay you directly into your Paypal or some other place like it....but these two ask that you fill out an on-line form to give out your Social Security number...That seems fishy to me for some reason since we hear so much about identity theft nowadays...
So what's your opinion..are these two places genuine or is there a risk of identity theft??

this souinds VERY fishy them asking for your SS#. I'd search
the internet to see if there have been any claims filed for
scam or fraud against either one. Unless they plan on paying
over $600 then you don't need to provide a SS# for tax
purposes. Check them out deeper I say. Good luck also with them.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thanks Grandpa...I just did a quickie search and I did come across this discussion group talking about Hits4Pay--a lot seem to think it's a scam...
I actually did do an email to the webmaster asking this precise question about the need for the SS# and I never got a response

Well it's wonderful that you seem to be making tons of money at this site...but there are others here who have been using this site as well and haven't even made more than a few bucks from it..and no, it's not sour grapes

Well I'm with hits4pay and have been for awhile but I never get much in the way of emails. Maybe 3 or 4 a week if I'm lucky. I have known many who are with them and they get paid from them but I have yet to reach payout. I do have them listed on my site with a note that I haven't reached payout yet. I haven't given them my Social Security info yet either. Figure I'd deal with that when I needed to.

I have a number from netzero. It's a voicemail that you can use with a local number and you even get email notifications. It's all free and this way no one calls me directly.

I just think there's something real fishy about the need to give your SS# out---I haven't given them my number to them yet either....and now I hardly ever get any e-mails from them..something just doesn't sound right to me...

i'm beginning to wonder if any of those type things are legit.even if they do really pay out,it seems like you have to complete a buttload of extra offers just to get one thing.

exactly.
some of the offers are "oh fill this out,you can cancel later after you've completed the thing"..
yea,if i remember to cancel..which is probably what they're counting on.
*sigh*

Let me guess, another person looking to make quick and easy money without hardly working, Right? If not, excuse me, but I see so many people waste time, get scammed, and pass up opportunities that literally pay because they see a little work involved! Most of the companies you are looking at on the internet are unprofessional and scams. If you can not tell the difference, it is best if you just cont. working 9-5 until you can distinguish what companies are LEGIT. Starting a home based business CAN be easy, just hard headed people make it more difficult than what it is. If you want to make money in the internet... interested in the Health Industry, contact me. I will be happy to explain from an economic stand point why the Health Industry is exploding, how you can cash in on it and make REAL money and legit companies to work with. If you are a complainer, whiner, a person who makes excuses, do not bother. I am not a rude person, just tired of people complaining about money, asking for help and when trying to help they complain, whine and make excuses! Don't be one. The ball is in your court and the decision is yours.
Sincerely,
Andrew

No I'm not trying to make "easy" money without hardly working for it...I'm on SSI Disability and for the time being I can't work 9 to 5...If I could I would...I'm hoping to build a work at home business with my photography...and it does take time to do that...in the meantime my SSI benefits allow me to barely survive between paying my bills ..if I have $30.00 left over for the entire month for everything else that's a lot...so yes, I am looking for alternatives to make a little extra income until my own business takes hold
And I really take offense in you're suggesting that I'm a complainer or whiner or make excuses...I see you're new here..so you don't know the recent crap I've been going through...during the month of May I had my benefits completely cut off and I had been getting benefits since 1996...I had no money to pay my bills, rent nothing...I was reinstated only because I had the smarts to get Congressional intervention--yes I contacted a Congressman to help me get my benefits back...the whole month of May was a battle and fight to get my benefits back....I'm by no means a lazy person, or unwilling to work...but for now I still can't go out to the legitimate work force to earn a living...which is why I want to establish my own business
I'm sorry but I really take offense in what you said to me here. And I think it's wrong for you to judge me in anyway.

AS I said...if it is NOT you then disregard. Any by no means was I making direct statements towards YOU as an individual. I was just simply stating "IF". It is not my character, It is not my personality, It is NOT who I am. If you feel offensive for my statements I do apologize! So please, take it as a grain of salt and BE HAPPY! No need to get offensive or defensive!
My consideration to what you are going through...I know it must be tough. Most of America and the world is experiencing some type of difficulties. IF, Only IF you allow me to, I can help you. Again, it is your decision. Feel free to email me at drew@progbg.com
Sincerely,
Andrew

I'm glad you started this discussion. I have decided that I will give them a try, though I am, also, leery about giving them my SSN#. But, Oldbuddy was right, it's basically the law and it's not the only company that has required that from me. I've read other responses around the 'net to indicate that they don't do anything bad with the number, so I'll risk it. But, I'm not good with referrals and the people who I usually try to refer to these sites have gotten tired of me asking.

desertdarlene, the thing you must remember is target people who do not have a job and wish they did; give your link to everyone even strangers, or you could form a group.

I haven't read every response but I did read the one you asked me too and the skimmed the first one. I would never offer my social security number to any website. The truth is you never know and it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'm thinking of ditching them...haven't gotten all that many e-mails to read any way--at this rate it would take me ten years to reach the pay

I do hits4pay and it is legit. It is not a get rich scheme but my first check was 32.83 and I now have 32.00+ in my account now. The way to make the money is to get refferrals I have over 154 refferrals so that helps. I am about to start deals n cash. I hope this helps. HITS4PAY is legit.

Many of them lately have been requesting your tax id number before they process any payments to you. Most of this is to keep in compliance with IRS reporting requirements. It is muh easier to get the info up front than to try to get it later after you've reached the minimum reporting limit.
I have been with Hits4Pay for a year now. I didn't have a problem giving them my information. I'm actually surprised that more places aren't requiring it before they pay you - they're actually supposed to.
Getting your social security number is one of the ways people can steal your identity, but they can just as easily do it from going through your trash on the curb.
