Do you have any idols? Why do you like them? Do you have any collections on them?
Are you supporting anything(e.g sports teams, players, writers, artists, celebrities)
Do the people in your country/town support the national/local sports teams if any? How crazy are they?
Do share your thoughts:)

If someone really like sports,US is a good place for them as they can find any kinds of sports of high quality there.
The reason why the sports development has been so well in the US may be due to the fact that sports have been stressed early in education, also it seems that the americans have natural talents in sports, with good training and facilities, that is why the US is so strong in any sports.

I hate rto admit this, but I had an idol in my teens. He was a singer, & I am too embarased to mention his name.
Since then, I don't think I have had any true idols. The closest I would come, would be my admiration of Cathy Freeman (runner) and Ian Thorpe (swimmer).

Juste recently I had the privalige of meeting Jeffery Earnhardt. He is the grandson of Dale Sr. He is 17 and is starting out in NASCAR racing seriously. he is a great sensible young man that hates all the attention. heres a photo from the races where I met him. I think I have the photo of him & I on my profile page. LOL!!
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I used to watch ESPN sports channel before, although i do not know much about NASCAR racing, but i think i have seen dale earnhardt on the tv before.
I just know NASCAR racing is something like racing in a round circuit for many many laps,it requires alot of techniques and endurance.

no, i do not have idols. but yes, i do support the national teams whenever they will participate in any competition. if they will place an appeal on television for support and how to give our donations, i make my small contribution. i believe that it is only proper that we will give them the little that we can spare. ours is a poor country and sports can never ever be a priority nor will there be enough ubdget to cover for their expenses.

I am no sport-fans, so I don't really support any teams in any games. Besides, we don't really have the team who would represent Hong Kong. I remember when I was younger, I am a supporter of a local singer here. I have never been a crazy fans but I did buy her CDs and watch her live performance. I liked her that much because her voice is so sweet and she sings so well that it touches my nerves every time I listen to her songs. Now she is married and has a kid and she wishes to focus solely on her family life, and she will never sing again. What a pity! But I do hope that she has a happy married life. *smiles* I still take out her CDs from time to time just to have a taste of her voice.

Hi easy! i have my favorite local basketball team the name is purefoods, for and for my family they are the best team, we support them in losing or winning moment. We have a poster of their team on our room, but we didnt have the habit of collecting pictures or posters much. one picture or poster is enough for us. For my countrymen here all i can say is some people here once supported an artist or sports team or have an idol they totally give all their support for their idol. Others are so called avid fan that come to the point that they follow their idol wherever they go..
I have attached a picture of our favorite basketball team the "purefoods team" on philippine basketball association..

i need no to know which shares choosen by warren buffete, beside there is different of investing environment,he is US citizen,im malaysian.the points are how he choose a share, and what he did before investing to a company.he already gives the strategies in his book-read the company annual report details, compare the price, choose the share with high return of equity(only profitable company with high ROF provided to share holder),buy with extra money, keep the shares for long terms.its looking easy, but there are 90% share investors cant did what he told, because they are greed to fast money,no self target, and they are "LEAD BY MARKET".
warren buffete never told investor which share should buy,but he told whats the right technics and attitute to choose shares.this is the different between him with stocks booker,a real investing genius and targetless risk taker.

True, wareen buffet have held some stocks for more than 30 years,no matter what happen to the market,he did not sell any of the good shares he has on hand, for those individual investors, they may have left the market when the market goes down ,they feel regret after they see the market get back to normal not long after.THey just want to have short term gain while warren focuses on long term one.

I guess most filipinos now are agog over Manny Pacqiuao, the boxer who made headlines. Whenever he has fight, the crime here becomes non-existence, policitians forget their differences, traffic becomes nil and all people becomes glued to their TV. I SUPPORT his heart and courage to make it make and the hardwork that he has to put up to reach his dreams. We also have a new dance sports team here in my city that lately won a lot of awards in the U.S.. I hope that my daughter or my cousin would someday make it up to the team.

Hi easy. I'm not much into supporting anyone. I used to be a die-hard fanatic of those 80's rock band. Even plastering posters all over the wall of my bedroom before. I can cheer and admire some great personalities but not really a supporter.

Hello easy, the answer is no.
I find it strange to have idols. From time to time (very rarely but there are such occasions), I would find someone whom I admire for certain qualities. But that's that.
I do not idolize anyone. It sounds ridiculous. In fact, when I ask myself if I want to be that person completely, my answer is always no.
No one is perfect. I may admire things the person did or some quality he/she possesses, but my obsession ends at that line. :P

Hello, wizard,I think you are the type of person who are very confident of yourself. Also you are a rational person.
May be I am not young anymore,I am wondering why those 'idols' can draw so much attention to the teenagers who are avid supporters of them, they even stalk their idols and try to know more about them.
I do have idols but I will not be that crazy.

Hi easy,
I have a couple of idols, my first being Steve yzerman, he was the captain of the Detroit Red Wing, U.S. hockey. he was the yougest captain in NHL history and the longest too. Yzerman retired at the end of last season.
My second would be Stephen Hawking, one of the world smartest minds, his theory of black holes stuns my mind, he is also confined to a wheelchair due to an illness that left him a paralized from the neck down.
Peace,Totty

I do have factor actors and actresses like Leonardo Di Caprio who is one of my all time favourite idols and when I was young I liked Patsy Rowlands from the Carry On Films she was great.

I wouldn't say that I necessarily have any idols other than my parents. The closest thing that I would get to an idol is Steve Prefontain,e the late long distance runner for the University of Oregon and TEAM USA in the Munich olympics. I don't condone the way he lived his life, but it was admirable how he was all out all the time. Probably the most intense competitor to EVER live in ANY sport.

I am not a fanatical sports team supporter at all. I believe that sports are becoming detrimental to our society as a whole. Sports are over emphasized, over dramatized and over paid. Until they bring professional sports back into reality I don't pay much attention to them.

Hello, sumofalltears, sports may be beneficial to the society to some extent, but i agree with you that they have been overemphasized. Some people are 100% supporters of some teams, when their teams lost, they create some troubles or even harmed themselves becasue of the disappointment.
Especially in the US,sports players have been overpaid, just imagine how much they can earn from the sponsors in a year. Some of the players may have contributed to the community thorough.
WHen talking about the sponsors like Nike or adidas, they have earned alot of money from the sports players, but they have also been criticized for paying extremely low for their labours in Asia.It seems that they have not even contributed to the society, they put all the profit into their pockets.
Sports may have a huge impact on a country or even the whole world in different aspects.

My sport is basketball, thus my idol are super stars of basketball. I've got a long list of basketball idols starting from the now retired Jordan and Pippen down to your very own Nash. The NBA team that I go for is the Suns but unfotunately for them, they did not make it to the Finals.

Michael jordan will be the basketball legend and may be no one be like him,i still remember in one season,he had helped the Bulls to win 72 games in a season.
Although many people try to compare other new youngsters with jordan, but he is simply incomparable to anyone. Just look at the picture and you will agree with me.
