Actually, I have a myspace account and I use it to find and keep in touch with long lost friends and to keeping in touch with newfound friends as well. The most important thing is to set your profile on private and never accept and respond to messages from strangers. But I am understand that kids can sometime fall victim of online predators.
Parents, you can talk to your children about this and make sure they understand how dangerous it is to entertain strangers on the net.
We can all help by being vigilant and taking it upon ourselves report abuse.

Finally, Someone with some common sense. Devil Bunny talks to her children every day, and so Do I. They are aware of what is going on, and lets us know if something questionable comes to them. We are very open with talking with each other about these things and Devil Bunny and I both do report the abuse. Thank you for being so kind in your response and knowing that it is the Predators that make it dangerous not the parents that actually do monitor their childrens activities. Thank you for your response.

"Finally, someone with common sense." A little full of ourselves aren't we? Do you want this to be a police state or what? If a child's old enough to be playing on the internet he/she's old enough to be aware of stranger danger. If not, that's a combination of the perv's fault, and the parent's lack of parenting. Federal law, by the way, has already ruled that website owners are not responsible for the content posted by users. Secondly, I for one believe in both my first and fourth amendments, thank you very much.

i care to argue the point. that's like blamming AOL/Yahoo chats for the probs in the world. Myspace is a cool. this lets indy bands reach a global market to show their talent. the same can be done for writers, artists, and other indy talents.

I do agree with you, why do you think I brought you over to mylot, it is much better here and at least we get paid for our opinions lol :)) I think myspace definitely needs total overhaul and to be monitored alot better. Unfortunately, I really don't think the people that run myspace really gives a hoot about their own policies.
