Was the process of BCCI's selection of Indian cricket team's coach transparent?

I did not find it transparent at all. Why the frontrunner Dave Whatmore suddenly became a non-starter is a mystery? To add to that how John Emburey's name was even considered was funny. The final selection of Ford might have been ok, but the whole process was anything but transparent.
What do the panelist feel on this?
Cheers!

BCCI will do greater wonders(blunders) than this though British Left India long back but the legacy continues.

Although we are richest board in the world, we have makeshift coaches and teams like Australia plan for their coaches two years in advance. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I guess only after the market value of cricket goes down BCCI would take any real steps to up the standards and processes of the game in India.
Cheers!

It is now revealed that the players dont want any high profile coach coz of ego reasons, and BCCI has taken decision according to the players .But since now ford disagreed to become the coach the whole scene is getting interesting and it is an astonsishing thing that the BCCI doesnt consult with
the ford about his contract with the kent before making him or declaring him as indian coach .
