I nave seven cats, one of them always scratches her neck until it bleeds it never seems to heal.We use to put one of those cones around her neck and it would heal up but the day she got it off she would do it again. I have went to the vet about it but nothing will make her stop. She is 11 years old and for about 6 of those years she has had open wounds on her neck. I am to the point of accepted that that is just the way it is going to be. Any ideas I really want to hear them, This is a picture of her.

very simple just get hold of her and cut or trim her toe nails, she might not like it atfirst. and also check with the vet why shes scraching herself too hard, she might have mites or other skin problems.

I have had her checked many times by the vet, they have done numerous things for her but nothing seems to work, it is not mites or fleas, it could be allergies I am told but mostly it is like she has a nervous twitch all the time. and once it is open again it bothers her and she just keeps doing it.

I have a stray cat at my house that we just moved into, she seems to do this to the underside of her ears. I have not taken her to the vet, because I really don't know if she belongs to someone or not. But, she is on my porch every morning when my son leaves for summer school. Anyway, I noticed that she was scratching and the only thing I had to put on it was some Desenex, it is an antifungal and I put it on there and the sores started clearing up. I have only been doing it about every 3 days, but it seems to be helping. I am sorry that you cat has this problem, she is very beautiful. Good luck!
