When I was a child, we used to get fish and chips to go the way they did in England with the fish wrapped in a newspaper and the chips hand cut. Now I am able to cut the chips, but I would like to know does anyone have a recipe for making fish and chips? They used cod, but I suppose perch or any white fish would do.

the simple fish and chips recipe of mine is, cut the fish fillets in required size, take one cup of plain flour with that add some salt and pepper.take one egg in another cup.take half cup bread crumbs keep it aside.first dust the fish in the plainflour, then dip this in the egg mixture then coated it with breadcrumbs.Take required amount of oil in a pan,put this fish fillets in this oil take it out when it comes as golden colour.crispy and tasty fish is ready. If you wish squeeze one lemon on the top of that.

That sounds like a simple recipe. Mind you the ones that my mother used to pick up at the fish and chip store (where they also sold fish) did not have any bread crumbs in it.
