does your dog understand what you talk

Dogs are smart, mine understands all kinds of things. He even knows when I am talking about him without saying his name. He knows what many questions and commands I give him are... like he knows what it is to go for a walk, to go for a ride, he knows what I mean when I tell him to go get some water or to check his bowl. Dogs are very smart and if you talk to them, they will learn to understand you.
