I wonder why the "mark best response" button is so near to the "next page" button. I have clicked on it many times by mistake. This time it was realy embarrasing, since I had a lot of long discussions with particular posters that merited the best response much better than the first one. Plus one of them merited it in a previous discussion where I did the same. SORRY!!! I have heard sometimes the best responses disappear. If they do, I'll definitly correct this. But I thihnk there should be an undo, or also you could change your mind and give it to a new one when they answer.
Have you ever clicked on "best response" by misteake? Are you angry when you merit it and you don't get it from someone?

I don't think anyone has ever given me best response on purpose I am pretty sure it is usually a typing error.

Whats bad about it? I have never set out to get a best response and when I get one I usually go into a state of shock for a few days. but I always appreciate being appreciated and I consider the people who give it,to have a well developed sense of humor and above average intelligence, which seems to be a rare commodity on mylaugh.

it feels terribly bad!! no, it hasn't happened to me as yet and i will be extra careful next time as this is quite possible. donot worry, respond to the users's discussions and rate him positive. you can make an effort to make it up. next time be careful.
good luck!

OH I did it a few times myself :)
I feel a bit bad, but hey, it happens, and the way things are setup in here we can't change it so I just try to pay more attention next time.
If you are friends with the person that you wanted to mark as best response and if you want you can send a message and explain, but honestly I never did this.

Well for me I take care of that button and its quite rare I put a best response unless I know the person deserved it. But I think your situation is excuseable I just hope you dont keep on doing it or else people might feel insulted hahah...
But for me I really read the responses so I know if the person replied to me for the sake of replying, I want then to really share what they feel and what they think. That is the only time I would put in a best response.

I have not done that, but I have rated someone + when I meant to rate - or !, then I really kick myself. It is time for me to go through and do some more best responses, though, so I will be careful not to have that problem. I do sometimes wish I could edit things here.

I have only ever done that once, but I know how frustrating it can be. I never get angry if I don't get a best response from someone. It may be they found someone else's answer more to their liking. Not everyone has the same ideas or thought process in choosing a best response. I have had to go back in and give the best response when the "glitch" happens. That's why I always comment to the BR, so that way I can remember who I gave it to in case it disappears !!

I don't really start too many discussions, so I don't face the problem of selecting the best response often.
But I do agree with you that there should be an 'Undo' button, and even an option to change the best response at a later date, since people reply to the discussion even after the best response has been selected.
I don't think I get angry when I don't get the best response even if I deserve it. Everyone has different tastes, and I might feel I'm best, but not everyone might agree. Plus, they might even have made a mistake, like you did, right? ;)
