How do you finance autism treatments for your child?

We have a son who is on the spectrum. He is PDD-NOS and also as OCD/anixiety disorder. We are firm believers in a gluten free diet for him. We would love to begin more biomedical treatments, such as enzymes, probiotics and therapies, but our insurance does not pay for these. Further, most holistic practitioners do not accept insurance and you have to pay up front. We have three other children and one income. How do you go about paying for treatments that are not typical?
