My niece did a survey on Myspace bragging about all of the things that she gets in trouble for in school. I want to believe that she is exaggerating, but my sister is constantly talking about how the school keeps threatening to expel her.
This is what happens to children when there is no one there to care enough. Her mother works all the time and the father lays up at home and watches television and allows them to do whatever they want to. I use to live with them, so I know that this is true.
One day, I was helping clean up the house and I asked my nephew to put something of his brothers away and his father told him that if I ever said something that he did not like, that he has permission to get smart with me. This is the kind of crap that he teaches them. I have already called social services once and it did a little good, but not enough.
Here is the survey that she did. This niece is only twelve years old. She has been a smart mouth since at least four years old, when I first moved in with them. The ex's mark the things that she has done.

Thats really unfortunate. I am a member of myspace, and I love it, but I do not think that children her age even have any business being on the website. Of course it will never stop, because it is so easy for kids to just lie about their age, but I wish there was something "Tom" could to do keep kids off myspace.

I agree with you, I wish that they were a lot strictor when it came to the age of the children, but it is really hard to tell whether or not a person is telling the truth.
Right now, my twelve year old niece has a picture up and she looks twelve, but there are so many people who put pictures of their children up, that it does not make her picture stand out at all. While I love Myspace, it really makes things harder for the parents.

exactly. I think something needs to be done with the Myspace issue.

Oh my goodness and she is only 12? I feel sorry for the child because its the parents responsibility to care and teach her good behavior. Obviously they don't even care let alone do anything about her behavior at school. I would have a fit if my son stepped out of line more than once and I tell you this much, my hubby and I will not tolerate such behavior. She is the one that is going to suffer in the end if she gets expelled. I could go on but this post has upset me sorry.

Believe me, it is even more upsetting for me. I am her aunt and I love that little girl dearly and there is nothing that I can do. Like I said before, I called social services and nothing was really done.
When my family found out, they claim that I did it to be spiteful. So now, I just watch from a distance and pray that nothing really bad happens.

This child is out of control, she is only 12, and I hate to say it, but she is not as bad as she is going to get.
She is a brat, but I don't think she is beyond help. She needs to be straightened out...now, before it becomes big things that are tougher
I maybe wrong, but I think I am preaching to the choir, this is your sister's kid and she doesn't seem to care. I don't know what to suggest, Mom has to step up to her responsibility and you have to get Mom in the game first. Then you 2 can team up on her daughter.

The only thing that makes mom the problem is that she refuses to leave her husband. My sister has very little say so, if any, in the way her children are being raised. The husband decided years ago that he wanted "spoiled rich kids," and this is what they are becoming.
It is really a sad situation, but no one can help my sister as long as she denies that there is a problem and pretends that everything is happy and normal. It is really weird to me, because I lived with them for a time and I never would have thought, growing up, that I would have a sister choosing to live like this.

How very sad for the child. She is not being shown the way to treat other people. Another thing is you reap what you sow and her parents will regret not showing her the proper way to treat other people. She has no respect for other people. Twelve and she is already doing this kind of things. Have you mentioned to her mom what her husband has said to your nephews brother. It is not right but if his wife does not say something to her husband your niece is going to do this kind of thing and she knows she can get away with it.

I told my sister what he said and her response was, I am not surprised. My sister has no control or say so about what goes on in her house. She never has. The kids don't even listen to her. They will listen to me, before they listen to her, because I am a lot tougher than she is.
