I was almost elated when I heard that the trial of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby ended with 2 and a half year jail sentence. Convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice, that poor pig got what he deserved. After all he was Cheyney's Chief of staff, and he helped orchestrate an unjust war. Outing a CIA agent was one of the least of his crimes. The sad part is that he did it at the behest of Bush and Cheyney, though they'll never admit it. I guess the Administration just is convinced that we are all stupid. How could they not know what Scooter was doing. Executive priviledge run amok. I said almost elated because Bush has the power to pardon, and I'm pretty sure he is thinking about doing just that. Officially though the White House said it wasn't going to get involved. So what are the chances that Bush tries to cover his tracks? Im thinkin' 70-30 in favor of a pardon, what about the rest of you?

Awesome!!!!! I Love that little Jingle , Can I use it ??? I have to Agree w/ you on this. I wish the trial would have reached the real heart of the Matter , but....as we all know...." Darth " cheney will never admit to any wrong doing. And by the way....This administration not only thinks we're this stupid....It doesn't really care either....because at the end of the day.... they ( Bush & co. ) have all of the Money to Buy what ever " Verdict " they want. But...." The winds of Change " are Upon us!!!!!

yeah, Dubya will remember Scooter on his last day in office. It's like a tradition, the final "F... YOU!" from the next guy who'll find out what a fearsome vaccuum is left in your life when the seat of power passes out from under his a-ss. That's why they wait til the end, cause it's too late for the voters to express their irritation with the new ex-Pres, and they know our short-attention-span brains will have forgotten all about it by the next election. In a way, it's just like the aftermath of Watergate. Nixon had to resign, but only the dorks at the bottom of the food chain went to jail. Of course, some of them actually participated in a burglary, so it was easier to jail more of them.

So when will you speak out against Fitzgerald for the fraud he committed? He knew who the "leaker" was a whole year before Libby was questioned. Fitzgerald couldn't even establish if Plame was a covert agent or not. If Libby deserves 2 1/2 years (for the same thing Prs. Clinton served NO time for at all), Fitzgerald deserves at least that.

I hope he pardons him. Two and a half years is too long of a sentence for basically having a bad memory. He did not out Plame. Richard Armitage did. Libby's testimony just didn't match up with everyone else's. A lot of people can't remember details of things that happened years before. So, I hope that President Bush uses his power and gives Scooter Libby a pardon. Or the very least he could do is commute his sentence so he stands convicted but doesn't do any actual time in jail.
