I'm getting old..., I'm getting some white hairs here and there and I pluck it out whenever I see one. Some say you get white hairs out of stress and if you pluck them they will grow in number. Is there any truth to these?

You shouldn't plucked your white hairs, let it be that way...In reality of life, you are blessed because your gray hair makes you more wiser in life and it gives you more wisdom in life. :-)

Think so? Maybe when I get enough of them I'll stop plucking them out. Right now when I get one, it sticks out like a sore thumb. LOL :), Thanks for the response.

Yes I do think so, it doesn't matter really whether a person has lots of gray hairs or not at all...we are only living with a temporary life anyway, so nothing really would be a big deal out of it. :-)

hehehehe.. i do have a lot of gray hairs! wait, do you call that gray hairs or white hairs. i heard some people call it gray, i heard some call it white hairs, i just dont know which is really which!hehehe but yes i do have them, and a lot infact. i started having them even when i was in high school. like i was in my teens then. and since i got a long hair and i dont tie them at times, they show off. my classmates tells me about and informs me that i have gray hairs. some even teases me that i am getting old but i just tell them that those gray hairs are sign of wisdom and beauty and i laugh about it. i have gray hairs, not that i am proud of it but i just dont make so much fuss about it. it doesnt bother me and it's actually no big deal having them. there are a lot of things which requires bigger importance than the gray hairs in my head. and besides i believe it's a matter of confidence and being happy about who and what you are as a person. what you think pelo?:)

White hairs doesn't choose the age when it appears. My son who is only 20 has white hairs appearing in his head among the shiny black hairs. But again white hairs are a sign of wisdom! lol. Don't pluck them. If you keep removing white hairs soon you will have a foothall pit in your head.

Nah--you're not getting old...you're as young as you feel, but it does get a tad discouraging to find those pesky grey/white hairs...Time for the dye!! LOL--In fact, I just bought some hair dye and plan to do it soon...I don't have to many white hairs, but the ones I have do stick out like sore thumbs...I only dye my hair about twice a year...maybe out of laziness as I have better things to do with my time then watch my hair dye--LOL--As for if you pluck white hairs out more will grow...if that were true I'd be completely grey-haired--hehee

I think it is true that when you pluck your white hair it will grow in number. As you pluck your hair, it tend to irritate your scalp

The age at which one begins to have grey/white hairs is set by their genes and nothing will stop it! As for having two to replace one if one is plucked, that is a myth. There can only be as many hairs as there are hair follicles....and plucking a hair doesn't cause a new follicle!

Me too, I pluck white hair whenever I see one sticking out, but it seems that a lot of them are popping out here and there. I don't like to use a hair dye, but I know it will be inevitable not to very soon. I must be really aging! lol. I don't believe though that plucking makes them multiply easily, but letting it just stay there makes the surrounding hair turn white too.

Hello pelo!(",) I really don't know if its true. I have no white hairs yet because I'm still young and not so much stressed out. I think you have to relax a bit so that you won't have many white hairs. But if you are getting older its just a normal phenomenon.(",) As of this time, I think I have to take care of my long, black, shiny hair.(",) It's okay to get older as long as you remain young at heart.(",)

I'm also getting some white hairs. I just don't pluck them. my son who is only 22 has plenty of white hair too. How can you explain that? Strees is one of the major reasons.

I have 1 or 2 white hairs and i plucked them. They don't grow in numbers, mine i think grows at the same place. Yes stress develops white hair also its in your genes. I have a friend who's only in her teens but have lots of white hairs.

i do have grey hair.. i got it as early as when i was still in grade school. my grandparents told me that my other cousins who are older than i am also got grey hair at an early age. they told me that genetics play a strong role in the greying of hair. they also told me its a sign of wisdom... my aunt, a dermatologist, told me that stress is contributory to premature greying of hair... of course age is another factor. =)
