Hi, myLotters. Today, one of my good friends sent me an E-mail to tell me her latest trouble these days. She said there was a new roommate who moved to their dorm lately. With her coming, she could not sleep soundly any more because of her snoring. That girl felt regretful for it at the same time. However, she could not help snoring when she slept at night, even at noon while taking a nap. It has taken them much time to find the most effective way to solve it, but all of the solution didn't work. She hopes I can give her some advices. But I really don't know how to solve it, can you share some good suggestions with us, myLotters? How to avoid being disturbed by someone snoring while sleeping? If you're the one snoring, how do you avoid disturbing others? I'm longing for your response. If you have any advices, you can tell me and I'll convey them to her. Thanks a lot.:)

you can tell your friend that she can move into another room with a different roommate. Or your friend can just tell her roommate that she snores and she cant get any sleep, she might think about going to a doctor to get it checked out. Also she can get herself some ear plugs that might help.

It is a very perculiar problem...and cannot be avoided when someone is snoring. The point is when you are sharing a room with someone and you are awake...then snoring may distrub you ....but if you yourself fall asleep then you would not know what's happening. If your friend gets too much disturbed ...she can her partner to get herself/himself checked up by a Docotor or alternatively can also awake her/him..while he/she snores.

If I am the one snoring, I would be considerate enough to sleep alone so that I won't be able to disturb anybody. The only thing that I could recommend is to ask that person to get another room that she would be occupying alone. It is very inconsiderate of her if she would refuse. Gosh! a lot of people are suffering because of her snore. I have nothing against snoring but I have so much to say about those who are not considerate.

My husband tried those nasal strips that you put over your nose before you sleep and that seemed to help. Not sure how it worked but it opened up his nasal passages. Sleeping on his side also helps too. Now that he has lost 30-40 pounds I don't hear a thing anymore :)

Try a good set of wax earplugs. The snoring person could try those breathe right strips one puts on their nose for snoring. Try sleeping on her side. or in another room. For the ones suffering I can only reccoment music to drown it out, or earmuffs or plugs. Good luck
