Do you have a McDonalds within a mile or kilometer of where you live?

According to the McDonald's Corporation website (as of 30th of January 2007) McDonald's has, "More than 30,000 local restaurants serving nearly 50 million people in more than 119 countries each day."
I found these statistics incredible and hard to believe at first. But, for me personally, there is a McDonald's within a kilometer of my house. And friends I have asked have all said yes, except from my parents that live in the country...
What about you, how close is the nearest McDonald's to you?

Hello,Script,in my suburb ,there is one McDonald near my home,i
think it is less than one kilometer away ,it is in a shopping
mall and i am living quite close to it.I can even walk to the
shopping mall(i think 40 mintues),so it is not that far.
There is one more 24 hour McDonald at the freeway which is 15 minutes drive from my home.

I live in Hong Kong and I would say yes! There is a McDonald's not only close to my place (actually I have to walk for less than 5 minutes to get there), but also, they are everywhere. Where I work, it's a commercial area and they have 3 McDonald's in that tiny area, I think I could actually go to all three of them within 5 minutes of walking. Sometimes I am amazed how many they are actually in the tiny place like where I live. And very often, I find them rather packed with people at different hours throughout the day too!

I really don't get how so many McDonald's so close to each other all find enough customers to make enough money. I find that baffling... surely if there was only the one, that would be able to cater to the amount of people wanting Macca's. My closest is in the shopping center which is only a ten minute walk away!

I believe that we are a little too packed! Too few spaces and too many people. Besides, McDonald's is really cheap here and people would go there if they want to save a few bucks or on a tight budget. Also, students love to go there too because they can just order a combo and sit there chatting forever! I personally had McDonald's for dinner tonight even though I know it's perfectly unhealthy for me. Well, I am on a tight budget, so really no choice *laughs*.

I live in a small town of 26,000 people. It literally takes ten minutes to drive from one end of town to the other. Our McDonald's is right at the entrance to the main street running through our town. It's not within a mile but it is close enough. Everything is pretty much walkable here.

The two closest Mickey D's are each 30 miles away- in opposite directions!! The closest BK, on the other hand, is 20 miles north. I live in a small town and we think that if some of these chains got together and gave us a "WenWay McTacoKing" here, they would make tons of money. They could put it out closer to the freeway, as my town is 3 miles in, so they could get lots of traffic. Or they could put it half-way into town and the high school kids could go there for lunch!! I know that some Pilot truck stops, and the like, are combining chains. There is a Subway and Taco Bell at the Pilot in Medford.

Yep, plenty of them....mac donalds here...mac donalds there...mac donalds everywhere. Sometimes it's hard to choose to go to which mcdonalds since they scattered just in almost every corner of the city...

There are actually three here, which is weird since I live in a small town. The one closest to me, I refuse to go to though, every single time I have gone their lately they have messed up the order. The final straw was when I went and ordered two burgers with extra pickles, one without pickles and two fries. I drive all the way home, no fries, I go all the way back, get the fries, get back home only to find out that they put extra pickles on one burger and none on the other two.
I keep seeing a lot of new faces there, but come on, this is every time I go. So I go across town to the other one, it's an inconvenience, but at least it's not as inconvenient as having to drive back to get the order straightened out.

there's a mcdonald's less than a kilometer away from our subdivision's gate. and whenever there's a McDo, (the nickname of mcdonald's restaurant here in the philippines) there's also a Jollibee, mcdo's number one competitor. i just don't know which among these two is number one but based on my observation the queues on jollibee restaurants are longer than those at mcdonalds.

i think there are five of them within a 1 kilometer radius. two at the huge mall which is just 500 meters away from where i live which located west and just outside that mall which is about 1 km away is another one, on my east side, there is another one just 750 meters away and on the north side...there is another one which is about 1 km away. It is just like starbucks and 7-eleven excluding their local competitor which somehow outnumber these three...geee...there is an invesion of fast food chains here.
