Mylot's Best Response... Ends the discussion?

Do you view a discussion and refrain from responding if it's already gotten a "Best Response?"
Do you see that as a way of kind of "ending" the discussion? It is listed in "Unresolved Discussions." So isn't that a way of putting the lid on it?
For me personally, I'll respond regardless if a best response has been chosen. But, it just crossed my mind that the discussions are "Unresolved" until a best response is chosen. Does it mean their, in a sense, "closed?"

I think that is the intent of the website, that choosing a Best Response is a resolution or a closure of the discussion. Personally, I'm with you, insofar as if I have something to say I will still say it.
That being said, I also will wait a week sometimes to pick a best response in case there are folks who think it's closed if it has one.

Same here. I just went through my list of "Unresolved Discussions" about 2 weeks ago. I had never chosen a best response! Lol. I've been with Mylot for ... I don't know, I think about 6 months or so? Anyways. I had pages and pages of "Unresolved Discussions!" But, I didn't want to "Resolve" the discussion if it wasn't ready to be closed! Lol. So I tried to wait it out.

I respond to closed to discussions if I find them intersesting. I don't think they are closed. I think if if were closed it wouldn't allow you to answer the question.

I definately understand why you would ask the question, lol. I still reply even if a BR has been awarded on some discussions. This only means that you have zero chance of getting a BR for that discussion, but your reply could still be useful. There are many members that award the BR after only a day but didn't get many responses. ;)

Well like you, the presence of a BR does not stop me from giving out a response in a discussion in which I want to give a comment. I believe that choosing a best response does not immediately correspond to a closure of the discussion. Other opinions can still flood in, only, the author of the discussion have already decided who he thinks is best.
