Local Community Mag. ??

I have just been looking into lightloadlifestyles and looking at other franchises around local community mags. I just wondered if anyone on here has tried this or anything like it and also If I wanted to publish my own magazine..... any hints and tips for doing this... Ok I know my spelling is terrible, But I do write alot (with spell and grammar check) so I have the content and am sure I would get the advertising i need to pay for it and to pay me.... so really I need to know everything else in the publishing side. Can I do it at home ? How to I make up a 20page mag or less? Any good programs to use? any ideas or inforamtion in this field at all would be great and helpful ... I could actually really enjoy work for once. lol Thank in advance
