what is an open relationship?

what is an open relationship? i often hear this from the young ones nowadays. Im not old or anything but what really is an open relationship? when does dating ends and the open relationship begins? why is it called a relationship when there is not commitment? it is just the same as dating?

An open relationship is exactly the same as dating in my eyes. Im not really sure why its called an open relationship, when indeed there is no real relationship. But as some people feel this is a good way of doing things. Because they can be married to someone else, and still have intamite encounters with this other person, while both parties know whats going on. I have seen this be the case. Where two friends were living together, and they were in an open relationship. They were allowed to do waht they wanted, but had to be home, to sleep in the same bed at night. I dont understand it....

iknow what you mean, i do not understand it either,if i were to describe what youve mentioned in this post, it will be having a cake and eating it too. they can see anyone they like and yet get the security of having each other,

an open relationship is when a guy or girl are ready to start a new and fresh relationship, with someone, either the person that they like or a person that approaches you. cheers!!
