I find myself doing it all the time. Not in some kind of crazy stalker way. Just sitting or standing somewhere and watching people go by walking or in their cars. It's always interesting to watch, especially in big crowds of people.
I always look for the ones who stand out in some way. Like when everyone is looking forward to where they are going and there is a lone person in the middle of a huge crowd watching the clouds above. Things like that.

I also do it all the time. Two examples from my weekend.
Saturday night, we had to pick up my uncle from the airport (he was coming in from Alaska). Just watching the different people and their interactions (from joy for people leaving to parents crying cause their son was leaving dressed in a military uniform) it's amazing to see the application of life and emotion in an airport terminal.
Then last night, at the laundromat, this one girl just spent the entire time on the phone. We arrived there and she was already there and when we finished she was still there. She had way less stuff than we did, too. It was funny watching her try to do her laundry and talk on the phone at the same time. And then her boyfriend/husband comes in and just watches her, not even helping. It was amazing to me to see that kind of human interaction and just watch.

Sometimes people are funny like that. I'll admit that I've gotten pretty good at doing things with no hands since we've had twins. I can do almost anything with my feet these days, well most anything. Anyways, back to the subject...
I love it when people are just being who they are and you can tell. Always the best.

I do this all the time. In airports, malls, parks. Whereever I am. The only problem is that I find myself often judging them. Their hair, their clothes, the way they are acting. Sometimes it's good, like 'wow I really like her shoes'. Or sometimes it's 'geez, doesn't she know those shoes don't go with that outfit'. then I have to stop myself. Hey, how am I to judge. I don't know these people. But I just can't help it.

So you're the one who's always shaking your head in disapproval at my completely mismatched and clashing clothes! :D

haha, that's probably true. I wouldn't know because I;d be too busy watching everyone else. :)

My friend is a great people watcher, he finds it highly enjoyable and has a sixth sense and usually tells me his findings, it's the only thing we don't share, I am NOT a people watcher and prefer to keep my head in a book or busy doing a crossword, I have no interest in watching people, I think you need a special talent to do that.

Yep, I like to watch people. My husband and I like to go to the boardwalk and sit on the bench eating ice cream. We sit and watch all the people walk by. You really get to see all kinds of people! Some people are really funny.

I love to people watch in fact my niece and I go out and just sit in big malls just to watch the people when we are really bored! It is really amazing to watch the people in this sort of atmosphere and see the people that cruise along and dont have a worry in the world and then there are the others that come across really aggressive and really unhappy... I have no idea why we enjoy this but we do!

Yes, I have noticed that too. Some people definitely look either very excited, very angry, or very lost in their thoughts. I like to look for those lost in their thoughts, because that is where I often am as well.
