I went through a time in my life where i was seriously depressed as does everyone i suppose, anyway like many other people i saw a shrink, and i tried prozac and many other things that hepled but only while i was doing them, they didn't help me in the long term, any way someone recommended eating M&M's because it is equivalent to taking a prozac everday! Why you ask because it provides endorphins also known as natural pain killers. So my question to you is do you think it is which is better for you M&M's or Prozac?

as the saying goes, "TOO MUCH OF EVERYTHING IS BAD, MODERATION IS THE KEY!", I guess then that whatever you take will be good for you as long as your intake is in moderate amount. taking too much of something like eating too much of m&m's or other chocolates can be bad for one's person. it will lead you to a disease called diabetes and others... taking too much of prozac also will lead you to be dependent on it. so i guess, we have to maintain in modicum whatever we eat or do for that matter.

Personally, I think I need both. I am on Lexapro, another type of antidepressant similar to Prozac, but I find that chocolate has a mood-elevating effect. I don't think M&Ms and Prozac are equivalent, but chocolate can have a mood-elevating effect. Sometimes when you are on an antidepressant for a long time it stops working, so you have to switch to another, by the way. I was on Paxil for years and it stopped working and the depression came back, so I had to switch to Lexapro.

That's a hard question to ask. M&M's aren't that healthy, then again, a lot of people don't want to be medicated there whole life. But it is true, there are certain things that help your body to stay happier by releasing endorphins... even tanning in a tanning bed can do it for you! But then again, that's not exactly the healthiest thing to do either, but everyone is going to die of something, so I guess just do whatever you prefer!
