I happen to like Agatha Christie, she was a prolific writer and she captured the age from the 1920s to the 1950s and a little later. Her books have been put on audio, adapted to the screen, and her favorite characters, Miss Marple, and Hercules Poiret had been portrayed by famous actors. Her story, "Ten Little Indians" keeps one in suspense so one does not know who the villain is and at the end of the story, we wonder about the hero and heroine.
Now what is your favorite mystery author?

My favorite mystery author of all time would have to be Mary Higgins Clark. I started reading her books back in junior high and have read every one, including her newest book. I absolutely love the way she draws you into the book and makes you feel like you are the main character. She has this way of keeping you hooked from the very first page. Her newest book "I heard that song before" I read in a day and a half. I literally could not put the book down. How I got any sleep reading that book I don't know.

I used to read her books. She's my second favorite mystery author. I liked it when some of the books were made into movies. I don't know how many I saw, but I really loved the way Mary Higgins Clark chose her titles. Thanks for responding.

I agree with Speedy. Higgins Clark is my favorite. My friend had read a few of her novels and recommended "on the Street where you Live" It was a really gripping read. I continued on with some other novels of hers. Its great stuff and great suspense

I read a couple of Tony Hillerman's. However I am unfamiliar with the others. I guess it is because I am a bit older. I haven't had much time lately to read and our library is quite a distance away and has cut down its hours. However we have Value Village here and if I happen to go there, I will look for the authors.

I have a few favorite mystery authors: Dean Koontz, John Saul & Harlan Coben top my list though. I love their books and they usually keep me on the edge of my seat to find out who did it or whos doing it. hehe

I read Dean Koontz, but I have not read any of the others. I'll look for them the next time I want to read a good mystery. Thanks for your comment.
