Are there certain things you like to eat during the summer more than other times of the year? I notice that I always crave more fruit and pasta during this season. I love spiral pasta with diced cucumbers and tomatoes, with a light italian drssing. I could eat that every day. My kids seem to always be ready for the
bar-b-q's and juicy watermelon. Ice cream is always a favorite too...we like to make our own outsied. It is something fun to do on a summer day.

I usually start craving fresh fruit, such as grapes, oranges, apples, canteloupe, honey dew, strawberries, etc., as well as salads (chef or cob) and cold pasta too. I'm a bbq freak any time of the year lol, but summer's great for fried chicken and ribs (k, now I'm hungry) with cold sides. Ice cream's another one that's all year long, but definitely more so in the summer, or making a grab for yum serving of gelati. I actually was given an ice cream maker this year haha, question is will I actually use it.
Aside from good bbq, I'm not a big fan of hot meals during summer, especially since it gets in the 100s where I'm at, but I usually start craving mexican food too.

I with you on the fruit. But I also love to eat corn on the cob this time of year. I just think it's sweeter and you can cook it on the grill. Lots of butter just dripping of it. Yum.

I have to also agree that Watermelon is one food that I eat a ton of in the summer, but rarely touch in the other parts of the year. I don't know why this is, because I really do love watermelon. I know that it doesn't taste as sweet as it does when it is in season, but I don't think that is the reason I don't buy it. I think it has to do more with what you are talking about and how I am tending to associate it with the season. Very interesting!

Yes, I notice that I eat only certain foods at certain times of the year as well. There are even certain things I notice I only eat in the fall and winter months. Thanks for posting. :)

i find i dont eat as much in the summer as i do in the winter, if its hot...i don't do well in the summer with the extreme heat...
we have easy things like frajitas and salads and burgers and dogs...
ice cream and lemonade are family treats as well...as for bbq'ing my hubby loves to do it and does it all year round (yes, even in the winter with snow piled around the bbq!!)

During summer, I like to eat juicy fruits such as watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and grapes. I also like the citrus fruits such as oranges, pomelo, grapefruit. Ice cream is a definite favorite to fight off the heat. I love making different kinds of fruit shakes -- I just mix all kinds of fruits in the osterizer and then a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and some ice cubes, give it a few minutes in the machine and then I have a refreshing drink. I also like making margaritas and just cooling off. All I need now is a pool to dive in and it's perfect.

I love to eat a lot of chill and cold items during the summer. Also I prefer to take more liquid food rather than the solid foods. Because Liquid foods provide me with more water than the solid food. I would take lot of Fruit juices, Water, Fruit Salad etc. Also I try to avoid meat and other Non-Veg items during the Summer to prevent the Over heating of my body. I will try to take all possible foods that will keep me and my body cool.

I love to eat cold watermelon, with a little bit of sale sprinkled on it. There's nothing like it. Watermelon is defiantely a summer food. It reminds me mostly of the fourth of July and fireworks.
