How do you get "un-blocked" ?

Sometimes I have "writers block". I find it helps me to relax in the bathtub or go walk with my dogs. It relaxes me and helps unblock. Yet sometimes I want to try out new things. Maybe you have other methods and if yes, what are they? Would love to hear some and see if they work for me too...

I read when I'm stuck. Usually when I read someone else's words and someone else's stories it just inspires me and reminds me things I might've forgotten. Also my favorite music is a great help.. though I find that helps me better with art, but sometimes listening to anecdotes and certain melodies just sort of removes the strain or stress I might have and...I'm able to think.

welcome to mylot and I hope that you enjoy it here. when I get a block I just take a break from what I was doing and it will come to me when I come back.

When I need to get un-blocked, I stop taking myself so seriously for a while, and come over here or go to a similar site, and just write light things for a while. After a few minutes, or maybe hours, of that, and a little extra money made, I'm ready to take things seriously again.

Quite often music will relax me and help me with my writer's block. Other times I will lay down and try to relax. The problem with that is that just when I get relaxed I have to jump up and start writing before I forget my ideas :P
