How are birthdays celebrated in your country?

In my country, friends and family will throw a party for the birthday gal / guy. Sometimes, they might also have a cake and some presents for the birthday gal / guy. Usually this celebration takes place on the actual birthday or the days before. How about you? What are the birthday celebration traditions like in your country? Please share your stories. Thanks.

i guess most birthdays are celebrated in similar ways. a party. with food. with friends and family. having fun. being thankful for having another year. =D

If you're rich, then you can have the best party you ever want. If you are poor, then you can cook chicken or something long like pancit, go to church and that's it. Happy birhtday to you!
