i prefer using a laptop because it's convenient and i can bring it everywhere i go. i can also use it for school works, etc. aside from that, my brother won't even dare to use it because he's not really comfortable in using a laptop when he's playing online games or either just surfing

Hello thangeritz. I think that it depends on how you are going to use the computer before you get one. I mean, if you have to take your computer with you while traveling on business, then it is much more convenient to have a laptop, otherwise a desktop is also great as it works faster than a laptop. For my personal use, I prefer a laptop as I have been used to it, especially the keyboard. I find it hard for me to use the keyboard of a desktop because when I started to use a computer, I used a laptop first. That is why I say that I prefer a laptop on my side.

If your sister plans to use it on the road more often, go for a laptop...A desktop would really be more helpful at home..Personally, I prefer a laptop. You can take it anywhere, on vacations, work, holidays, etc...Ask a tech though what specs you'll want that'll suit your needs.

Well if I may make a recomendation it would have to be a laptop. Right now laptops are just a durable as a desktop. Meaning they can do all that a desktop can do with one more option and that is, it is portable.

If you don't have to travel around all the time, I think desktop is a good choice. As laptop is much more expensive than desktop. Its advantage is easy to carry. However, if you use it at home all the time, it doesn't a matter whether it is easy to be carried. Laptop's hardware is also expensive than desktop's hardware. If there is something wrong with it, you have to spend more money to fix it.

I recently got a new laptop and I LOVE it! I feel like I have so much freedom, I love just laying on my bed and browsing or taking it downstairs and myLot from the couch and I can take it to my friend's house and on trips...definitely a laptop. I still have my desktop and I have barely touched it! Lol.

Laptops have a great advantage in terms of their portability. If she carry a laptop with her,her applications and documents are always immediately available. With a wireless card, her laptop can also access the internet while on the go,so she have more places to do research, check her email, and be more productive. Desktops do offer advantages over laptops as well. Although laptop prices have come down while performance has increased each year most desktops offer a better price-to-performance ratio. Desktops also still hold some ergonomic advantages over laptops but bear in mind that they will also take up considerably more space in an apartment or residence hall.
Her decision should be based primarily on how she plan to use her computer, and then, how much her computing budget can handle.

Well, laptops are more portable... but are limited by battery life and tend to be slower.
Desktops are far less portable, not limited by battery life and tend to be much faster [and cheaper]
Just have her decide where her priorities are in a computer, and make her decision based on that.
