Hi and welcome to the boards! I am not sure what you mean by "mercy killing". Could you specify with an example?

Yes, I do agree with euthanasia. I think it's cruel to look at another living being, who is suffering without end, and tell them they have to live against their will. Based on nothing more than someone else's religious beliefs at that.
BTW I didn't know it was legal in the Netherlands, thanks for sharing that. It's nice to learn something new everyday.

first of all,welcome to mylot.I am for mercy killing. If a person is in agony they shouldn't be made to have to go through life suffering like that.

I agree with you...If a person can suffer the agony anymore ,he should have every right to apply for mercy killing.
At the same time we should also consider the side effects of mercy killing. People in power can misuse it in a corrupted sytem. This can be a really big danger to human rights and legal system.
So mercy killing is not bad...but its bad if its implemented without a legal protection system which prevents its misuse.
