I'm a lefty, my mom's brilliant idea was to make me righty, so I have the worst handwriting. For years I tried to improve it, but it cannot be done so I'm embraced the computer and I handwrite barely more than the grocery list. Not saying it can't be done, but I for one gave up on improving mine.

actually at the at of 15 I decided that I had enough of my mom changing everything about me, and I started writing with my left hand again. So I can write with both hands and I can even etirw ekil siht in cursive, but it just all looks like chicken scratchings. With the computer I can pick a pretty font, I like that.

I have only one tip for you:- Always use INK PENS. Do not use ball pens.
Use ink pens. Write smoothly make complete curves and draw straight lines between the rules. OF course use only rules notebooks to write. Practice keeping your letters and alphabets of the same size and same space between the words. Try to keep the flow in one direction. Or write vertical for beginning.

I have a fairly nice handwriting, and I think I get more marks in the examinations because of this thing. One simple thing which can be done is to concentrate on the letters being written. Try to make them as nice as possible, meaning: to make them as round as possible. For ex:- a,e,o,p...etc...Try to make them as round as possible and do not make them in oval shape. They look worst.
One thing I have noticed is; a handwriting which is more of a type written ie: the letters in the words are written seperately unlike that of a running or cursive handwriting. If concious efforts are put behind the writing for some days I am sure it will become natural for you to write nicely and impress everyone. Some people may say that a good handwriting needs us to slow down our pace of writing which cannot be afforded in today's life. But I think, a handwriting which is of type font and not of cursive hand can be written with equal speed.
Lastly, I am sure you will think this is childish and silly but its not. Get a book of a three-line and write some text, probably some text from a book, during your free time. You may feel its below dignity and others might laugh at your efforts but its one of the best methods to improve your handwriting.
One more thing; try to make it clear to your mind that you want a good, neat and nice handwriting even before you begin practicing. I always wanted, right from the childhood, to have a very good handwriting, and now it has become natural for me to write nicely no matter what I am writing. So, all the best for your efforts and have a nice handwriting very soon.
