Have you ever met with such situation that when you are using your computer, something just happen and you have to leave for half or one hour before you can come back to use your computer again?
In that case, will you save all your work and shut down your computer and then turn it on again when you come back?
As is said that to shut down and turn on too often is harmful to the machine, is that true? I always leave my computer on in this case and always asign it some "work" to do like downloading or scanning for virus.
What do you do when you have to leave for just half an hour and will come back to keep using your computer? Why?

Usually I will just keep it on. It won't save much electricity if I turn it off.

yap it's true that turning on and off the computer a lot of times is harmful. If I'm only inside the house and pause for a while of what I'm doing, then I won't turn it off. But if I'll go outside or somewhere else, then i really have to shut it down
