haha - Ok so it was only 90 but that beat my usual score of 70s.
I definatly bowl for fun but am considering going to the lanes more often in the future.
What Is your high score and what would you recommend so that others could achieve a higher score as well?

I used to be in a league. Every Saturday for 3 games starting at 8 in the morning. I got really good though. High game of 225. If i kept bowling every week, I know i could have progressed. Always next time! hehe To achieve a high score you just gotta practice. The more you bowl, the better you will eventually get. You will learn how to throw, where to stand, how hard to throw, have to curve, etc..but until you learn that.. bowling is going to be tough

yeah, I've figured that stuff out on my own. My boyfriend ALWAYS throws the ball in this huge curve leaving him with either a gutter ball or strike. Oi
Me - I like the straight aproach and my numbers are improving drastically compared to him ;)

I joined a league with my friends about a year ago. My highest score ever was 257 and it only happened that one time. When I started out I had an average of 80, by now my average is up to 164. So just keep bowling and have fun. We don't go to win, we just go for fun. Also, every bowler has their own unique style. Just keep trying and see what works best for you. As long as you have fun and lots of laughs, you are doing it right;)

Congrats on the 120!! As far as the finger thing, my friend does the exact same thing, so you are not alone LOL
Our team also cheers for gutterballs and if one of us has a split and the ball goes right between the pins, we all jump up with our arms in the air yelling "It's good" LOL
We get weird looks sometimes, but who cares...

Yeah I don't hold the ball correctly apparently (I use my pointer finger *gasp*) but other than that I have pretty good form. Better than most people I know at least.
I definatly have fun. If I'm having a bad night I start cheering for the gutter balls. This always throws people off! I beat my high score of 90 with a 120 tonight so things are getting better!
The trick is apparently to use a 12lb ball instead of a 10lb and to not look at the pins haha (but I do use the markers so I'm not totally crazy).

Congratulations on your high score in bowling. I am sure if you practiced more that you will do even better. Bowling takes time and patience and understanding of how the game works. That is great that you enjoy it and want to do better at it. My highest score ever was a 230, which was a few summers ago. Bowling takes patience and concentration and you need to have good form and know how to roll the ball. There is a lot to know about bowling.

I haven't played for so long now, but I remember scoring 204 in the last tournament that I had played (inter-company tournament). And so far that was still the best score I ever had in a bowling. I think constant practice will be the key factor in achieving a good game and reaching a high score. It will make you familiar with the lane and the ball that you are using and at the same time the good stroke and form in releasing the ball and hitting the right target.

We went tonight to an all you can bowl and eat (pizza). It was so fun! I beat my high score with a 120 at the end of the night.
I've figured out that I play better with a slightly too heavy ball (12lbs) - weird.

I love bowling and really only play for fun. Even when I'm on a team, I don't get too wrapped up about the scores. My average is only a 140, but I'm really unpredictable.
When I was younger I was on both a YBA (Youth) and an adult team leauge. On Saturday, I'd bowl on the YBA team and be pretty consistant on the lanes. Normally, I'd be one of the top three scorers for the week. Well, I had a set of my life...179, 204 and 244. The following Tuesday I bowled in the adult league and on that night it was for ranking. The captain of the team was excited since we had a good chance of moving up in the standings and if I could maintain or better yet, duplicate the scores, we'd win hands-down.
To everyone's disappointment, I scored a pair of 80s, but made up for it on the last game...a 260. We wound up winning, but I was a big disappointment.
To bowl good, consistancy is the key. If you pay attention to what you are doing, and make only small adjustments, then the scores will easily improve.
The best advice I got was always pay attention to where you are looking, and remember to shake hands (follow-through) with an invisible person standing on the lane. Good shoes count too.

Its very fun! When I started I would do a dance every time I guttered the ball - Just to throw everyone off;)
Now It's more of seeing how the people next to me are doing and cheering each other on even though your strangers. I suggest going to something that has other stuff going on as well so you don't get over critical (ok well I do this).
Tonight I went to an all you can eat and bowl night. It was set at a flat fee of 11 bucks a person and there were black lights and stuff. Very cool and fun to play around with the lights.
Other things that sometimes go on are competitions (hit a certain pin and win a prize) or karaoke even!
No matter what - have fun!
