While sitting outside tonight on my porch I had a beautiful butterfly land on me and just sit there for a while. I have never had this happen before. I am guessing that maybe I am less stressed tonight than I have been.
Has anyone else ever had a butterfly land on you and just sit there? Did you just sit still and watch it, or did you freak out and start swinging your arms around trying to make it go away?

I have had that pleasure. I was sitting in a lawn chair with my legs crossed and the beautiful creature landed on my leg. I just sat there & stared at it in wonder. It finally flew away. I was a kid back then, but I felt so blessed by the experience.

I feel the same way. It was such a wonderful experience! I hope to be able to experience it again.

Good morning Dragonokiefly,
Yes, I have also experienced this. But, I kind of cheated. I have many butterfly (and hummingbird) attracting plants & flowers in my garden. So, when I'm out weeding, it's not terribly unusual to have this happen. Especially, if I'm weeding near one of their favorites, and am wearing red or pink.
I think your experience, because of it's spontaneity is far more gratifying.
Although I will add that having a hummingbird go out of its way, to check you out, is a pretty amazing experience as well. It's also pretty neat when they buzz by your head, but to have them stop right in front of you, and watch you, is pretty wild.
Then again, I still get excited when a Ladybug lands on me.
I guess there's something to be said for being easily amused. It sure makes life more fun!

Hi ladyluna! I was lucky enough to see a hummingbird last summer. They are so small, no bigger than my thumb! I thought it was a June bug or something else that makes a loud humming noise.
Being easily amused can be a good thing at times lol. And you are correct it DOES make life more fun!
You are so lucky to have a place where you can watch the butterflies. I can't keep anything alive long enough to be beautiful for them to fly around. I'm jealous! ;-)

yes, i experienced that and i'm half-happy half-freaked out feeling. but i will just let it stay there how long it wants even though its really creeping me out. Sometimes, it could mean a people special to you who passed away and just visit.
