Wow... How Long Did That Challenge Take?

Ok, so did anybody find a cheat for the Backgammon Challenge this week? I partnered my son, because naturally, you can't play backgammon against the bots... I don't know why, but there it is. So... we were facing 50 games of backgammon. eeeeeeeeek!
He tried resigning the game, he tried timing out and neither of them registered. ha ha ha. That'll teach us; it took nearly as long to time out as it did to finish a game and nothing to show for it!!!
Anyway, we plodded on through four evenings of in and out games, because there were other things to be done in both our homes. We finished tonight, at 7.15 p.m., just in time to beat the clock. I'm just dreading what might be amongst tomorrow's challenges because that one was the worst since that meanie Quick Quack one... I hate ducks now! lol.
I'm sick of the sight of Backgammon now, too! lol. Did anybody find a way to get through the Backgammon more quickly?

Nope, I don't think there is a way to get through it any quicker way but to play it with someone you know. Its very odd that they don't have the opition to play with robots on this game, I wish they'd get that.

I completely gave up on that badge...got the Quick Quack one in like 10 minutes and then said to heck with backgammon...I haven't touched my pogo much this week and well, I can't say that I missed the backgammon much at all.

Oh yeah... that Quick Quack one was fine, but the old one was the one I meant, that they had to extend over a longer period because nobody could get it. It took almost two weeks to get and I was dreading going in there this week! ha ha ha
I'm not too keen on backgammon either, but if you can find a partner, it does make life easier. I wish they wouldn't put rated games, and botless games into challenges... it always takes longer because you have difficulty being online the same time as your partner.
Still... good luck with this week's challenges. I hope you enjoy those.

I finished it but not sure how long it "actually" took. WHat got me, was going in to play, and then no one would accept you in their room. I didn't have a pre-set partner, so I had to depend on someone bein gthere and letting me play with them. I had people deny me, or quit playing. It drove me bonkers. The worst for me was that Quick Quack one from a while back, and one of the Pogo Bowls too.

If you press the Play Now button at the top of the page, it will take you into a random room which is awaiting a partner. You don't normally get refused from those... just a tip.
Yes, that Quick Quack one killed me... I think everybody hated it! That's why they had to extend it but it was so boring and tiring, I never wanted to look a duck in the eye again. lol.

I don't like the games where it won't let the bots play myself. I did find someone to work with on getting the badge. She and I were able to use the resign but that only worked after we were almost finished with the game. A couple of times it didn't work but that was it. In total I would say it took us 5 to 6 hours to get our badges. We did take a few breaks to rest our eyes and get a bite to eat for lunch.
It shows the new challenges will be First Class Solitaire, place 999 cards in the "foundation stacks" and the other one is activate 75 cards on Lottso. Lottso I don't mind, will have to see how long it will take me on the solitaire. haha
I agree wtih you about backgammon this week, it runs a very close 2nd to Quick Quack. If they had not extended the time to get that one I would have never gotten it.
Good luck on your new badges this week and have fun.

Neither of those sounds too bad to me. Thank you for lightening my mood. :-) Thank you for the info and the good luck wishes. Good luck to you with your challenges, too. At least they're not rated, or botless and you can play them on your own. lol.
Brightest Blessings.

I just finished mine up I think on Monday. I wasn't even going to bother to do it, as I hate when pogo makes us play those games. Just like Chess and Checkers. They don't even have tokens to earn from those games. UGH! But I was able to get a room where people were in and helping others get the badges done.
Just remember the next time pogo pulls out gammon again, as you play, when you get all the pieces onto you own side of board, (same with other player) 1 of you can resign for the win. Just make sure you each have all your pieces across onto your own side first!

My friend Zzum taught me a while back, when I had my fist challenge in there, and it was quite easy to pick up.
I don't know of anywhere online that actually teaches you how to play it but Pogo have basic instructions as you go into the room and show you the moves which are possible to make, so you wouldn't find it difficult, if you can find somebody to play with you. Look for me, if you want to... my User Name on Pogo, is LoveInTheMist6.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Yes there was a cheat. As long as you both had your pieces on your own side then one could resign and the other would win and it counted towards the badge.
They have got to do something with that game. Add background music, jackpot spins, or something to make it a little more exciting.

Backgammon took me forever! I had never played this game before the badge and none of my friends or family members were available to help me at the time. A lot of people on Pogo were helpful and we'd take turns resigning, but other people were the exact oppisite. If I was winning, they'd leave so I wouldn't get credit for the game.
The only way I found to get through it easily was to try to find someone to help and go through resigning. Or else play with someone who wont knock your pieces back to the start.
I hope to never see backgammon again!

Unfortunately, it does crop up from time to time, so I daresay we'll see it again, but I think it's time they upgraded the game so you can play against the Bots. There are some very nice, obliging people in Pogo who will help all they can with challenges, but there are also some selfish ones, who are only worried about getting their own badge, or helping their own friends. Thus, being able to play the Bots, would help enormously.
Brightest Blessings and good luck with this week's challenges.
