Restless Leg Syndrome has been found to be linked with a low level of dopamine in the brain. You could try boosting your dopamine levels by taking Tyrosine, you should be able to find it at any health shop. Tyrosine will also help with concentration, energy, and certain types of depression.

I'm glad I came across this comment. I never thought about taking iron supplements to see if this helps. I have had to take them off and on for years, but am horrible at taking pills regularly. I'll have to give this a try too.

i have always found keeping cool and not letting your body get too warm has reduced the incidence for me
i heard somewhere once that it can be because of an imbalanc of elecrolytes ... but i could be wrong
does anyone know what causes it?

Have you talked with a doctor about this? I heard there is some medication for it, but I am not really interested in taking medication. I have been dealing with this for 20+ years and luckily it isn't always bad. If I am on my feet all day, my nights are just awful and I can't lie still. I have to get up several times and move around to settle my legs down.
