Shakespeare is arguably the most inspirational and beautiful writer who had ever lived.. however, do people who believe that god wrote the bible, or the koran, or any other script think that Shakespeare is better a better writer than god? if so, why? i dont think, however, that this is a matter of opinion. the bible and the koran's litracy cannot stand up to shakespears'. but what do you think?

Hello... you must have thought of this topic for sometime, but let me tell you that it is not fair to compare God with shakespeare, for us, believers would say that there is no one greater than God. For your info... God did not write the Bible. People which we simply call authors, did. And just like shakespeare who has has his own inspiration in writing his plays and other works of literature, the authors who wrote the books of the Bible were inspired by God.

And one thing more, each person has his own preference in literature, so you simply cannot say that shakespeare is the best. For I absolutely disagree.

Shakespeare and God had two different modes of writing. Shakespeare- fiction. God- truth. Shakespeare wrote plays and was meant to be entertaining. God did not write anything. He did not pick up a pen and write what is possibly the world's biggest book (reference to the Bible- it's massive!). In fact, if I remember correctly, there were hundreds of gospels written by PEOPLE which the Vatican destroyed, then set about rewriting the Bible. I believe I read this from a gnostic site- I cannot recall. Now, the Bible we do have today was written over a thousand year time span. If God created the world in 7 days, I doubt it would have taken him 1000 years to write a book. Nadine.

I agree with you, Shakespeare is one of the most inspirational writers ever. There are many other inspirational writers that wrote things just as important as Shakespeare. As far a the bible it was written by mankind, by people with education but not for beauty the wrote for education. Very to the point, and many of the bible books are letters from the author to the people that followed them. It was never written for beauty and verses but for purpose. If you want beauty in the bible the psalms are a great and beautiful read. they were songs and poems written to glorify God.

Because they were not actually writen by the hand of God, they were writen by men after the fact. Most of the books in the Old Testement were oral tradition before they were written down. Same goes for the Koran, they say Mohammad wrote it down, but nobody's found a copy in his handwriting.

Mohammed was illiterate and others would write down whatever he said. Just like Plato wrote down whatever Socrates said, except Socrates wasn't illiterate...

I know nothing about the Koran, I do know that the bible was written by several different people. The bible was written by some of the people in the bible. Like Mathew wrote his book, and so forth. God guided what was written but he can only guide, people have free will had can do what every they choose. Shakespear wrote plays and dramas. The bible is history and stories. It was not written to be drama. The bible was written at a different time also the language was different. There is not two writers, in my opinion you cannot compair the two books, or stories.
